Subwoofer level balance oddity
I used Avia and set my receiver to -10db. I then level balance my sub (SVS PB1) to 75db (average), which matches my mains.
I then measure 1/6th octaves from 16Hz to 160Hz (sinewaves) between 20Hz and 100Hz, all my measurements are 80db+, even peaking at ~100db. This is after RS SPL compensation numbers. At no point between those frequencies does it dip below 80db. Does this make sense? How come I can get ~75db when I level match, but have such high peaks when I measure the frequencies? Am I doing something wrong?
