Tone defeat on of off??

Which do you prefer....

And what about when you are just watch a regular tv broadcast program. Is the bass and treble come through the way it is supposed to, like with a DVD.

Or does it come through flat?

Thanks

Depends on my mood.

Defeated the bass and treble are usually set to neutral, so audio comes across as the broadcast transmits it.

It really depends on my mood and soundtrack/broadcast

Also depends on volume. The ear is less sensitive to bass and high treble (10KHz+) at low volumes, which is why those "loudness" buttons add SPL at those frequencies.

I have a tone defeat switch on my NAD C350. I leave it "on" (defeated) when listening at normal levels or above, then turn it off at low levels with the bass and treble controls set about halfway between 0 and maximum. Really helps at low levels (after the little one has gone to bed).
