Good to know they have more sense than Geneon. That business with releasing APPLESEED to a total of twenty theatres in the whole country, most of them a few blocks apart in NYC or LA, still has me rolling my eyes.

I didn't get through as much of Kino's Journey as I wanted this weekend, but I did watch volume 2. More good episodes, and from what I've seen so far, I'd recommend it.

Andrew:
YES!!
I watched the first and really liked the over the top style, and the concept is interesting. I picked up V2 but haven't watched it yet. At only 2 episodes a disk it is a blessing and a curse, costs are down but only 2 eps makes the wait interminable.

Well got to disc 3 of Utena (or the first disc of the Black Rose Collection) but my combo dvd/vcr player is now having issues... So I ended up playing Final Fantasy X-2 over the weekend...
Any recommendations for a multiregion dvd player? I think I can finagle one in whenever I get my tax return...

Malata. They're not making the 520 any more, but the new models (DVP-580 and DVP-558) look like they're thinner than my player . HK Flix has them for around $150, which is a lot better than what the 520 was going for when I got it.

Woo - You can get a Cyberhome C-300 (I think that's the right model, check the Deals forum to be sure) player from Radio Shack for aroundd $50, if not less. It is a progressive scan player with component output and can play multi-regions via a menu "trick". There may be better players out there, but I'm pretty happy with it as my secondary.
On the anime side of things, I should be picking up Evangelion Platinum volume 6 today. I'm trying to really limit my anime purchases (still no Wolf's Rain, and haven't picked up Ikki-Tosen, Samurai Champloo, Shura no Toki, Chrono Crusade, Gantz,...) because our lease is coming up (may renew), summer is coming (my wife's a teacher and in CA right now the budget may not be there for summer school), and we have a second child due in October. I plan on picking up Samurai 7 when it is announced, EVA is close to finishing, 12 Kingdoms is done (for now?) next week, leaving me with Fullmetal Alchemist and CC as the only series I have actually started collecting.

Quick question. Is Gunparade March a decent series? Best Buy has the entire series with the tin case for $22.99.

Yeah, it's a pretty good series. For that price, I might be tempted to buy it again .

JohnAD-Thanks for the skinny on Gunparade, I went ahead and bought it. I just finished off Last Exile and Texhnolyze. Both are excellent Geneon series with Last Exile being much more accessible. I also just watched R.O.D. the TV Volume 2 last night. Hopefully the quality will hold up over the next few volumes because it is quickly becoming a new personal favorite.
