From the stuff I heard over at AOD, the Japanese R2 disks weren't anything to write home about, either. In fact, the reason why My Neighbor Totoro was delayed was because The Mouse was having problems with the PQ. I won't hold my breath.

Speaking of Miyazaki and the mouse, it looks like Disney is going to be doing a live action version of "Kiki's Delivery Service".

Could be good, could suck.
Just finished off BotS I. Kinda amused that Jinto and Lafiel end up alone with each other again, like at the end of CotS. I don't think it was quite as strong as CotS. Looking forward to watching BotS II.

Anyone interested in Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai (shichijin no samurai), will take not of the new anime that is based on Kurosawa's work called Samurai 7. It is very well done and is a 26 episode series.
Very very good indeed.

That's good news. I'd heard of Samurai 7, but I haven't been able to find out any in-depth info.

Jason, I want to clarify that Disney is not basing it off Miyazaki's version, but instead they are making an adaptation based on Eiko Kadano's books, which Miyazaki adapted for his version.

Now that Go Fish is offering an exchange for fixed subs, I gave in and purchased Ghost in the Shell 2.
I am currently watching Batman Animated Advs. Wow! What an amazing series. I honestly don't remember it being so good. This is a totally groundbreaking show. Highly recommend it.

I see it's -S L O W- here. Not much going on, but that I finished watching Angelic Layer for the fourth time, and Hellsing 1-3 again for the second time. Actually 1/4 way into disc 4 (but am functioning on 2 hrs of sleep >_<; )

I really haven't been watching much anime lately. However, I did finally finish up watching the last two disks in The Ultimate Matrix Collection last night. I will be picking up Full Metal Alchemist tonight, along with season 1 of The Twilight Zone (80's version). I'm way behind on my manga collecting, too. March is coming up quickly, so I can start focusing on getting anime again, although there might be a Tivo in there, too.

All:
I picked up a couple more disks this evening: Fullmetal Alchemist vol. 1 and The Twilight Zone season 1. I watched FMA, and was duly impressed. I'm looking forward to the next disk.

I also picked up Fullmetal Alchemist. I'm trying to cut back on some of my anime purchases since I have a ton that I haven't even watched yet, but there's so much that tempts me. I'd like to get:
Wolf's Rain
Ikki-Tousen
Shuri no Toki
Samurai Champloo
I'm currently collecting Chrono Crusade (though I haven't bought anything past the first volume), Evangelion Platinum (only 3 more to go I think, and one of those should have come out yesterday), and Twelve Kingdoms (one more). I'll have to see some of the character designs, but that Samurai 7 series Kong mentioned sounds interesting.
Ah, the sickness that is anime addiction...

Agreed. Samurai Champloo is HOT SHIT.
Mugen must have spent some time in Brazil because his fighting style is based upon capoeira, which would (much) later form the basis of break-dancing.
