(Another) Question about Chrono Crusade - Is there much fanservice (hope I'm using that term correctly) in it? One of the characters did seem quite...large in one of the shots I've seen. That's not something I'm overly interested in, and it would only add to my wife's dislike for anime.

In the first volume, at least, there is really no fanservice to speak of.

DVD Day(TM) didn't quite turn out the way I'd hoped. I picked up In the Mouth of Madness, The Serpent and the Rainbow, and the Star Wars OT Boxed Set. My store didn't have Saiyuki vol. 5, and I didn't want to start a new series at this point, so no new anime this week .

Quite a spendy day for me...

Star Wars
Shadows Fall - The War Within (Collectors Edition with a bonus DVD and a Century Media sampler CD all in a cool digipack)
Green Day - American Idiot (Regular edition, because the one that came with the hardcover book was $12 more. )

John, your minions must be turning against you. I really think you should discipline them!

BTW: Have you heard the new Megadeth? I like it.

OBack on topic: Haven't gotten much anime lately, since I finally got all my Bebop and Trigun disks. Time for a marathon...

I downloaded the Megadeth one, but I haven't listened to it yet. The new Shadows Fall album rocks, Chris. I actually heard the whole album like 2 months ago (thanks to the wonders of advance copies and people who put full MP3 albums on IRC ) If you liked The Art Of Balance, then you won't be disappointed.

Chris, I was looking at the music reviews on your site, and I saw that you liked the Through The Ashes Of Empires by Machine Head and Archetype by Fear Factory. I own both of those, and I really like them!

I never got that one, I only have the first one, which I liked. The Megadeth is good, a bit different though, Dave Ellefson doesn't play bass and Mustaine reunited wit Chris Poland on guitar. Mustaines voice is sounding a bit deeper this time.

No, its more like they are getting tougher to recruit cause John has too much discipline. ;-)

*Lightsaber ON* - Just in case

I've got Kiddy Grade Vol. 6 on deck. I need to stay out of my usual stores this week, unless I want to take them to Vegas with me next week... (a trip for work)
Although a coworker is going to loan me Star Wars because I haven't decided if I need the training material....

My DVD collection - \"in progress\"

Hate to bash the EMoJ, but yes, they dropped the ball this time around . I was able to get everything I wanted - CC, NFotNS, and EVA Plat #2, as well as Star Wars.

Now I have to decide whether I want to get GITS vol.2 next week and whether I should just order 12K vol.7 through Best Buy's site when I get my card number.

Still have Wolf's Rain to pick up, but I'm working on my mom for that one...

My DVD Collection - very outdated

Hello to all NEW posters. Welcome to the HTF AAD

My haul yesterday wasn't too shabby either. Besides the Star Wars Trilogy (WS, of course) I got some anime as well. This is my complete haul:

Star Wars Trilogy (WS)
Fighting Spirit #1, aka Hajime no Ippo
Twelve Kingdoms #5, aka Juuni Kokki
Azumanga Daioh #4

Alas, I didn't get to watch much. Was here at work until around 720p and then I had to shop and then make dinner. It's now 930p. Then after seeing a little bit of Jean Claude Van Damme's Bloodsport, and heeding a call o' nature, I watched the last ep on Patlabor #9. Fun stuff with one of my favorite all time casts in anime. Then I had to finish Rival Schools Evolution with 16 characters to unlock some bonus characters. Even with the game set on easy, 8 fights per character took around 15-20 mins each. Good news is I did unlock all the characters. Slept at ... around 140am.

(For those of you who don't know, Rival Schools is a 3d fighting game released by sony for the sony Playstation. The characters are students at various high schools (and or teachers) who are confronted with an incident at their school, and so they set out to investigate. The best part are the outrageous supers and team supers which have to be seen to be believed. Fun old game, if you can find it, and comes with two discs. An Arcade disc with the arcade version of the game and voices, and an Evolution disc which is the same game with a bunch of unlockable mini-games and some Bonus characters (nameless students with special moves of various characters.)

And to relate it back to anime, the game has two/three anime introductory movies and endings which are still fun to watch... )
