Good evening folks...
Well, I did finish Sailor Moon S disc 1 then start disc 2 (finished two episodes). The story seems a lot darker than the previous two seasons, Classic and R. That said, the show is quite dated, and the plot is quite drawn out. So far, it rates a B- or C+ so, due to the numerous monster of the day type episodes so far. That said, I am quite happy to see this old series that along with Dragonball Z helped to spark and create a huge fandom that eventually grew into the current otaku generation...

I finally got some anime watched last night. I started off with Azumanga Daioh vol. 4. Good episodes, and enjoyable, but I think this one is going to turn out to be a 'B' series. I also watched the first disk of The Big O. This one really has my interest. The style is very different from more 'usual' anime, and I'm really liking it. I'm *so* jonesing to finish the series up tonight.

Damn JohnAD:
More I browse this thread, the more series I feel like collecting. This is NOT GOOD for the credit card debt.
So stuff to get include:
1. Onegai Teacher
2. Kaleido Star
3. Kino's Journey
4. Dual!
5. Big O - was interested, now must look for box set...
6. Kiddy Grade
7. TeXholyze
Not to mention the various Gundam series (mostly UC stuff), Onizuka (got five discs to get with this series), Heat Guy J, Jing: King of Bandits, L/R, Urusei Yatsura, etc etc well, you folks get the sad somewhat demoralizing picture.

You look quite dashing

Finished off the first disc of Full Metal Panic. Not bad, but doesn't really have me rushing out to get #2 yet. Since it is a Gonzo show, it is quite beautiful to look at.

Woo:
LOL. I know what you mean. There are even more series that are out or coming out: The Big O II (second season of The Big O), Please (Onegai) Twins (the sequel to Please (Onegai) Teacher), etc., etc., etc.. I think I've even got it worse. CD Japan just announced that there will be two Juzo Itami boxed sets coming out December 20th. Between the two of them, they cost over $500. And since I'm a fan of Itami's, I've got to get them . There goes any other DVD purchases in December, I guess.

That's why for the time being, I've pretty much stopped buying DVDs right now. I still need to catch up on what I haven't watched yet, which is still signifigant.
I'm not in a big hurry to pick up Big O II, since I've seen the run on CN, and I wasn't exactly blown away by the ending. Maybe when they finally put it in a brick, so that it matches the first season brick...

Yesterday I went through a bit of anime. First up was the Mihoshi/Pretty Sammy OVA specials thingies. The Mihoshi one was pretty good but the Pretty Sammy OVAs were pretty much inane. Especially the one that was essentially about big money Bill Gates standardizing the world, and Japan being the only country to resist. Yay. I hope the Pretty Sammy series is better than this. I will add that I loved the OP for Mihoshi...used to have this song on Mp3 years and years ago and had no idea where it came from so what a treat it was to hear it again.
Then it was a viewing of the first hour of the Utena Movie. It turns to crap after that so I stopped when it started to "get stupid".
Then to completely cleanse myself of all Pretty Sammy stupidness, it was all of Wolf's Rain Vol. 1. Really good but the fate of the peregrine falcon depressed me. They are such beautiful birds, see them all the time along the highway here in CT hanging out on the lightposts.
Also went by my local Gamestop which used to be a video game/anime haven but in the past month or so since I've been in its been turned upside down. They used to have a huge anime section on the wall, now its a tiny little area out on the floor with the prices ramped up ridiculously and everything there was about a year old, the same titles that have been sitting on the shelf there since it opened, all the newer stuff gone. Plus they used to have tons of toys (action figures whatever) and most of those are gone too, in fact the floor was well organized but packed with stuff once upon a time but now they have very little there... kind of depressing really. I used to would go in to pick up a particular game and end up hanging out for an hour or so, trying the new games out on display and picking up a DVD and a couple of magazines on the way out but I guess no more... since they are no longer carrying anime mags either and only a handful of gaming mags. Ah well.

Well, I made the mistake of reading some reviews over at animeondvd.com and finding another title that looks interesting. What's the word here on Saikano? Hope this wasn't already discussed and I just forgot about it....

The first 8 minutes of Innocence (it's subtitled) can be seen over at http://www.ifilm.com/ifilmdetail/2642793.
In case anyone is wondering, the film is getting mostly negative reviews over at Rotten Tomatoes. Right now it's sitting at 45% on the Tomatometer with 10 positive and 12 negative reviews.
Woo, I wouldn't bother with Dual or "Onegai" Teacher. I've seen parts of both of those series, and they really aren't good at all.
