Hmm, Love Hina. I enjoyed it, but... You can kinda watch the first disc and then the last, and you pretty much know what there is to know. But if you enjoy that type of romantic predictable comedy (like I do ) you'll like Love Hina.

Sorry, panty shots and that guy getting slapped around is only funny a few times

I kind of agree with Tony here. I find the "typical" series get old with me. Rental worthy, sometimes, but that's it.
Some of the highly rated ones (Please Teacher, Chobits, Mahoromatic, etc) are better, though.
Matheson- "There are probably some who'll say that by doing this, we are interfering with their culture."
Gideon - "Probably. Screw them."
-Crusade, Visitors from Down the Street

I continued to rewatch Escaflowne last night with volume two. This is one of the great ones.

Hey, anyone know where I can get it? Amazon is out, and no stores in Toronto have it. Hmmm....

What's the plan for these NGE special editions? I assume they'll be doing them for the entire series, but will they also be redoing End of Evangelion? How fast are the individual volumes coming out? I'm thinking about an upgrade, but never picked up the EofE discs and will hold off if they're going to be part of this upgraded set too.

Amazon.com has adjusted their time frame from 4-6 weeks to 2-3 days. So I placed a new order, who knows. I also have an order with rightstuf.com, when I called earlier this week they told me that they would get a new shipment this week. That has changed to the second week of August. Who the hell knows what's going on. ADV still have plenty in their online store, but shipping is 17 us to Canada, so they will be a final alternative. I don't know what's going on with this set, but its utter bullshit and I'd never expect it from one of the most popular anime series.
If anyone ordered it from an online store, and received it already, I'm sure Andy and I would appreciate the heads up.

Hey Stacey! Thanks for the thumbs up on the Chrono Crusade and Scrapped Princess. I'll get these two to round out my ongoing series for the year.
I gotta try to budget for the rest of the year though so its going to be tough. Must..save..money..ooh shiney anime! Order order. cough.
Ah Fruits Basket & Chobits. Warms my heart to see these discussed again. Both are great shows but would not recommend them to anyone that is just a passive fan of anime... one of my coworkers saw an episode of Chobits and has tormented me ever since by going "Hideki!" in a high pitched voice constantly. *sigh* But I loved them both, definitely tops where anime is concerned.
Working through Slayers Next before starting on Berserk. Enjoying it so far, but not as much as Try. I always enjoy watching these characters though.
Someone mentioned Angel Sanctuary? That has to be one of the MOST messed up things I have ever seen. Strange, lots of incest overtones (hmm Utena was full of that too, three different counts of it...ah well).. but is beautifully animated. And I liked it, because it was just so... MESSED UP! It's been several years since I've seen it but it left such an impression that it is not one you soon forget! While stuff I have watched a few months ago is out of sight and out of mind.
Anime Collecting: Inu Yasha, Scrapped Princess
Last Purchases: Kaliedo Star Amazing Collection, Mezzo DC, Mezzo Thinpak, Neon Genesis Evangelion Platinum thinpak, Inu Yasha S2, Angelic Layer, Super Gals! Ironclad Collection, My Dear Marie

I've been having problems finding the NGE Platinum box as well. Darn you John!!! BestBuy.com says they have it in stock at the store I go to, but when I was there the other day they only had the non-box version. They also did no | |
