John,
I saw and loved RahX the series so I think that I would like the movie. I'll go pick it up today alone with the Megaman collection for PS2.
All,
Anyone else looking forward to GitS:SAC next week?
Mike

Michael:
Yeah, I preordered the SE version on volume one, and I'll probably preorder the SE version on volume two when I go pick up my DVDs on Tuesday.

John,
Well i purchased the RahX movie yesterday so I will watch later today and post my thoughts, after i get off work that is.
All,
If you liked chobits you might want to be on the lookout for DearS. It seems to be a chobits clone but is kind of humorous nonetheless. Cute characters, semi-mysterious plot line and a really horny teacher... make for an interesting first couple of episodes. Anyone who watches fansubs A-K is doing it

Jesse-
Do you have the original release of Evangelion? I'm thinking about picking up the Platinum Edition, but I want to make sure that there is enough of a difference to warrant the upgrade. If anyone has seen the two different versions, any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

--ahem--
I do now declare
VICTORY!!!!!!!!!
in the "HTF Anime Challenge 2004". I have finished viewing all my non-defective LDs [and even two out of those three] this year, and so have completed my vow.... From here on out, I will begin to make new purchasses, and need only view them when they come in to keep current. :p)

James,
Here's a good site with some comparison screenshots. The video is remastered and that annoying jitter is gone.

I sold my Eva box back in like Feb/March in preparation for the new release.
Matheson- "There are probably some who'll say that by doing this, we are interfering with their culture."
Gideon - "Probably. Screw them."

FYI: Anime appears in 4 places I've found on Comcast's ONDemand (in order of content):
Cutting Edge/Anime Network (too much to mention)
Adult Swim (Big O, Elves, S-CRY-ED, etc)
TechTV/Entertainment (Last Exile, some others)
Starz/Series (Hellsing, Northstar)
Add them as you see them. Adult Swim is a new edition and there's a bit of stuff in there. There's so much stuff on Anime Network I can't keep up. A few problems is that you'll have to deal with dubs (not a problem for me), the channel bugs (hate them) and (worst of all) the poor PQ.
I basically use OnDemand as a guide to what to buy on DVD. The resolution is much lower than DVD, and not very good.

Christopher:
Congrats! Good thing it wasn't a competition, though. Otherwise, Tony would have won . I've still got a ways to go through my list.
Michael:
I'll keep an eye out for DearS.
All:
I pretty much marathoned through Chobits today (except for the first disk, which I watched on Thursday). This is another classic series that everyone should see. Great characters, great story. 'A', highly recommended. I finally completed my old rewatch list, and I only have 22 more series to go (plus movies) to finish my HTF Anime Challenge 2K4. Luckily, when I started my old rewatch list, I put some great series at the beginning:
Serial Experiments Lain (A)
Escaflowne (A)
Tenchi Muyo! (A)
Sol Bianca: The Legacy (A-)
A pretty good set for the next four series to rewatch .
John.

Currently making my way through X: series, and just watched the first three discs of Last Exile.
X - I hated the movie when I saw it a few years ago. Had no clue what was going on, and by the end I still hadn't figured it out. The show, now that's another story. I'm enjoying it quite a lot so far. Things are being fleshed out, and I'm starting to understand the movie now.
Last Exile - WOW. Very good so far. Can't wait to see where the story will take me.

That was the first thing i noticed when i watched episodes one and two last night.excelent improvement.also if you have a nice stereo system both the Japanese and English tracks are 5.1, I am still in the Pro-Logic prehistoric age of Audio so i can't really comment on the quality of the tracks themselves..
All i know is i better sell my other set soon
