Tenchi in Tokyo is not an A series, more like a B- for me. Tenchi Muyo! on the other hand is an A++ series, and holds up well to even today's series in many ways. Get it, Alanna - or so the Wooman sayeth....

For anyone who's got an all region player, CD Japan just announced that there will be a new , LE release of Grave of the Fireflies out on June 18th. They've got the price as 1500 yen, or about $13.70. Details can be found here.

Alanna,

Just go ahead and gulp down CotS. It pretty much stands on its own, and probably will convince you to spend more money.

Well, Sunday I'll be off to England with my honey for two weeks of getting away from people. So, bringing my portable DVD player, and definitly going to bring Tokyo Godfathers with me to watch, probably some B5 as well. May bring another show, but not sure which yet...

Jason

I still haven't watched Crest of the Stars. I've had it for almost a year now and it still sits there... unwatched and unloved and collecting dust.
WATCH IT A.S.A.P.

Alanna, you do know that COTS is the series that made me stop hating anime. So, you know that it must be REALLY good. WATCH IT, OR ELSE I WILL HUNT YOU DOWN AND STEAL YOUR ANIME COLLECTION!!!!!!

NOoooo anything but that!! And you'd probably give it right back to me after you spotted stuff like Knights of Ramune and other assorted cheapie crap I bought because it was err. cheap. Heh. Excel Saga and Puni Puni Poemy was almost enough to make me start hating anime by themselves... geez. LOL

Okay though, wow I had no idea Crest of the Stars had such a rabid following. I was planning on doing World of Narue next but I'll crank out Crest instead and add my two cents after its done. Was really, really hoping for a Banner of the Stars brick though before watching it. Maybe if I hold out another few months they will announce one?

Woo: Okay, next stop DDD! I'll buy and preorder up all the Geneon signature discs from the Tenchi Muyo!! OVA but nothing else after this! I'm going to have to take a loan out just to keep me from going under from my anime addiction. *laughs*

Last Purchases: Kaliedo Star Amazing Collection, Mezzo DC, Mezzo Thinpak, Neon Genesis Evangelion Platinum thinpak, Inu Yasha S2, Angelic Layer, Super Gals! Ironclad Collection, My Dear Marie

Arrgggh...my eyes!

I just got done marathoning Banner of the Stars vols. 1-3 and Banner of the Stars II vols. 1-3. Even though I'm paying for it right now, it was totally worth it . I have to say that the CotS/BotS/BotS II series are real gems, and should be seen by everyone. Marathoning, is however, optional .

Tony:

I totally agree . I think rewatching the whole thing cemented it, though.
