Let's not kill ALL the lawyers (my aunt is one). Let's just disbar the ones that have allowed this problem to grow like a cancer throughout the entertainment industry. The music industry would charge you for a song that got stuck in your head.
Thanks for the addresses. I'll be writing to Paramount because I have enough bones to pick with them to form a human skeleton.

Well, now that you mention it...

I sadly lack the skill to do it justice - this was a trick originally used by Mark Ayres of The DOCTOR WHO RESTORATION TEAM when restoring the audio of the lost Dr.WHO episodes.
Since the audio exist as off-air recordings from the 1960's - Different reel-to-reel recorders never are exactly the same speed, and he used the speed and pitch method to get the proper running time - using the theme music or other known pieces of music to get it right.
I don't recall what software he used - but his audio restoration work is simply amazing.

Re: The Fugitive, Season Two Volume 1 - Reviews
My first DVD is complete. It is a 4.03GB DVD-5 containing the new transfers of MAN IN A CHARIOT and ESCAPE INTO BLACK. Each episode has the optional Barry Morse introduction available as special features. I did a graphic with music and you can PLAY ALL or pick from a menu of individual selections. Sync is 98%. I stopped fussing over the rubbery plus-minus two frames when I realized to my astonishment that the sync isn't perfect in the original mixes. The sound varies; in spots hiss is more or less noticeable, in other spots I was able to import the restored audio. They're not perfect, but until such time as CBS/Paramount gets its act together, these will damn well do. Picture quality is unchanged, which makes the tradeoff in signal to noise ratio acceptable, at least to me.
I have a good source for WORLD'S END and am still crossing my fingers on CRY UNCLE. Hopefully that will be the next 2-episode disc--a project for August. Unless some miracle with my sources happens, however, I'm not sure where to go after the next disc is finished.
Still, no matter what, my two favorite episodes from the bastardized set have been corrected.
Bring on the dancing girls!

Re: The Fugitive, Season Two Volume 1 - Reviews
It looks like RTN is no longer airing The Fugitive. They have taken it out of their program line up, at least on the website.

The Sitcoms Online website has recently reported that the RTN Networks have recently dumped all the CBS-Paramount shows and are pretty much using all Universal shows now in their lineups across the country.

Too bad about the CBS/Paramount shows leaving the RTN. They were some of the best shows on there. Maybe if the network ever goes national, some will return.

Re: The Fugitive, Season Two Volume 1 - Reviews
I've seen in two places on the Internet the rumor that season two volume two is due out in November, with rescored music, which, if true, would imply season two volume one ain't gonna be fixed.
I originally posted this rumor a week ago but deleted the post because I couldn't get any kind of confirmation or even an alleged source. I post it now only because I saw the rumor in a second place, which of course doesn't mean it's any more reliable than it was a week ago (because now the unsubstantiated rumor is in at least three places, given this post, and that makes it no more credible than it was).

Re: The Fugitive, Season Two Volume 1 - Reviews
I'd be very surprised if the DVDs were fixed with the original scores. Paramount has obviously decided to go this route, and once those kind of corporate decision are made, they are rarely reversed. Along with the rest of you, I continue to hope.

LIke you, I think a fix for S2, volume 1 is unlikely. However, I do think there is a chance they might reverse their policy for future releases, given the outcry over what was done. If there were a delay in the release of that second S2 volume, that might be a good sign.
Remember the outrage over the cropped widescreen on Kung Fu Season One? The studio never fixed that release, but they did make sure the future releases were in the original (correct) aspect ratio.

Re: The Fugitive, Season Two Volume 1 - Reviews
If they feel they *have* to re-score S2, V2 I certainly -- and fervently -- hope that they *at least* mix in some of the Rugolo themes with the rescoring.
Not using any of the Rugolo themes originally composed for the underscore was a complete slap in the face to the fans of this series.
