Crossing Jordan Season 1 DVD - Low Picture Quality?

Hi,

I just bought the season 1 DVD of Crossing Jordan, and just finished watching the pilot episodes. Now, is it just me, or did the picture quality seem poor?

I'm watching it on a 40' Sony Bravia through a PS3 hooked up with HDMI cables, if that is of any concern. Or is it because of the age of the pilot (the show started in 01)?

Did anyone else notice this? Or is it just me?

I don't have this set so I could be way off but I've seen a number of releases where the pilot looks worse than the rest of the episodes. How do the rest of the episodes look at a glance?

I'll tell you tonight. I've only watched the pilot so far.

I can confirm the pilot has a horrible fuzzy picture quality, but it improves sharply on the other episodes on the set.

I don't think that's a DVD-related issue, as I've seen that pilot so many times and it always looked soft and fuzzy compared to the average episode.

From TV Shows On DVD's review:
Quote:
I was a bit surprised when the first scene in the pilot appeared on my TV; it looked a bit out of focus. That was followed by another shot, and another, and another - the entire pilot looked a bit fuzzy, and I wasn't impressed. Obviously they switched something for the regular series because the other 22 episodes looked very nice, and didn't suffer from the fuzziness that plagued the pilot.
