Firebee,
Hello. I should also have added that I purchased the U.K. version of DS9 for the same reasons. It has additional features (e.g., info. on the Defiant) not included on the North American release.
For VOY, the first season includes the following special features (see below). When I saw 1) the casing for the series; and 2) the episodes from TOS on the final disc, I scooped it right up. The features are wonderful to have, but for me the primary reason really is the packaging. Additionally, the North American release does not include any booklet (timeline histories and episode descriptions). I just think the North American releases look cheap and unappealing.
# DVD Features:
* Main Language: English
* Available Audio Tracks: Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround
* Braving The Unknown
* Voyager Time Capsule
* The First Captain Bujold
* Cast Reflections Season One
* On Location With The Kazons
* Red Alert Visual Effects Season One
* Launching With Voyager On The Web
* Real Science With Andre Bormanis
* Star Trek The Experience
* Lost Transmissions From The Delta Quadrant Easter Eggs
* Star Trek Original Series Episode Arena
* Star Trek Original Series Episode The City On The Edge Of Forever
* Star Trek Deep Space Nine Trailer
* Star Trek The Next Generation Trailer

Re: What are some dvd your plan on getting?
I'm planning on getting:
Mission: Impossible- Season 4
The Invaders: Season 1
CHiPs: Season 2
Incredible Hulk: Seasons 3 and 4
Swamp Thing Vol. 2
I'd like to get more but it depends on how my DVD funds hold up and I keep looking at my collection and get the urge to re-watch my sets but I'm finding it hard to find the time. I'm really far behind on extras and new DVDs. I keep thinking I'm going to cut back on the number of series I buy but then I see another show I want.

Wow, that's pretty cool...yeah, you're right...the U.S. sets for ``Voyager'' didn't have any booklets...that made it a bit frustrating, tho most of the sets had an episode summary on the back of the bottom of the two-part plastic sleeve...but it would've been nice to have a booklet like ``TNG'' or ``Enterprise''...

Firebee,
I will admit, that seeing two episodes from TOS didn't dissuade me from purchasing these boxes.

Sure, I can understand that...since one of them is a classic. I've already got the original series in the yellow, blue and red plastic cases from when Paramount first brought them out in 2004 or 2005...I forget when...in fact, I'm actually thinking now about going back and rewatching ``TOS'' after I finish ``Enterprise,'' watching ``TNG'' again, then DS9, and finally ``Voyager'' again. Star Trek is my late-night TV viewing on my days off...I very much look forward to it.

The current sale at "The Big River" as you call it has lots of interesting titles. I'll order the first couples of seasons of THE L WORD later tonight - at $15 a piece, it's a steal! I just saw them in a local shop going for 40€ each, which I find very expensive for cable seasons that have no more than 15 episodes.
Bring these sets on!
Everwood : Seasons 2-4
Knots Landing : Seasons 2-14
Life Goes On : Seasons 2-4
The Nanny : Seasons 3-6
Party of Five : Seasons 4-6
Picket Fences : Seasons 2-4
