Radioman,

I have a slightly better idea. I'll take seasons 1-2, and you can have seasons 3-7, no questions asked.

LOL. That reminds me of the hospital in SMALLVILLE where the lighting could rival any back alley in a film noir. I mean, THIS IS A HOSPITAL for goodness sakes! How many botched operations were there because of mood lighting in the operating room?

Don't have too many all-out 'blind buys,' as I used to collect shows on tape for years, and managed to already sample a lot of vintage shows. I can think of two totally blind buys, however... Timeless' release of TATE and A&E's release of THE CHAMPIONS. I'd never seen a single episode of either series. I loved 'em both!

Awwww...too late, Radioman and Ockeghem!

I had actually gotten the Outer Limits on sale at Amazon for $32 (and it was the newer "fixed" release, on which all the eps actually played!)....and when I went to off the series on Amazon, the price was back up to $49...AND it ewas currently unavailable- so I ended up selling mine for $40-something dollars! Hehe...actually made a profit on it.

Lucky for me....'cause if I had to give it away, I'd have a real dilemma choosing between Radiomans CUTE doggie...and Ockeghem's pretty girl! (Whom I kidding? I'd probably go with the doggie!)

Yes. They were the double-sided ones, like the first release...only this newer release wasn't defective. I don't know of any way to tell the two sets apart- the pacakging and everything looks identical....so I'd caution against anyone buying used (Unless the seller, as I did, states that it is the new set and all eps play) or even new from a source that doesn't offer a good return policy.

Although I didn't care for the show....I found the discs to be of good quality- and my $28 Wal*Mart-special DVD player had no problem with them, whatever.

Re: What Is Your BEST & WORST Blind Buy TV On DVD?

Worst I had never seen any episodes of these shows: Undeclared found it stupid, think that I don't like Judd productions since I didn't like 40yr virgin either

Ned and Stacy picked it up cheap because I like the leads but found it boring and they should have just had the main guy character be gay.

Best Veronica Mars I had sampled a few episodes and when I watched seasons 1 and 2 I went through them quickily.

Lesson learned to sample a few episodes first.

I don't really have a worst blind buy as when I buy TV on DVD, it's usually because I'm already familiar with it. But best has to be a toss up between Band of Brothers and Carnivale. Both I hadn't seen before; just heard the hype on BoB and a friend recommended Carnivale.

You're right! My dog Goldie is irresistible. And I don't really think it's "too late" at all!
