This riveting, action-packed season opens with staff members of County General Hospital confined to the ER and under lockdown for two weeks. Dr. Carter’s (Noah Wyle) playful love affair becomes a pending crisis while Dr. Kovac’s (Goran Visnjic) wild partying affects his performance around the office. The physicians are pleased when Dr. Weaver (Laura Innes) is promoted to a position outside the ER, but frustrated to learn Dr. Romano (Paul McCrane) will be her replacement.
