Should I get the 5 Individual seasons Dick Van Dyke Show box sets, or the complete Seasons Box?
|
The content, as mentioned above, is identical (except for the booklets). The Complete Series set has a thicker booklet, covering all 5 seasons....whereas the individual sets each have a smaller four-page booklet/brochure that features just that particular season.
But I would definitely recommend the individual season sets over the bulkier "Complete" collection.
The "Complete" set is packed in a
large slipcase box, which isn't really very thick or sturdy, and the discs are very hard to get out of the darn thing. (And the thin box can also get damaged easily in shipping...mine was dented all to hell, which I hate with a passion.)
Go "individual". IMHO. (But if you're on a tight budget, the Complete Set is cheaper for sure.)

I've read there are some issues with the Complete Seasons box set that has the dreaded syrupy clear slime on the DVDs?
|
Hadn't heard about the "syrupy slime", but some of the V.Dyke discs do suffer from "Foggy Bottoms". (They still play fine, even with fogged-up rear ends though.)
