I didn't see James Taylors name on Box .Is he on this set?

why did they hold off so long to release this? I remember this topped a Sony poll in 2005 and they planned to release it that fall and pushed it back. Why? it would've made a lot of financial sense to time the release alongside Walk The Line

Yes, James Taylor sings "'Sweet Baby James". This is really one of the best music sets I've seen. I hope they come out with a Vol. 2.

Just a note of warning - Apparently there are two versions of this title on DVD. I picked it up at Wal-Mart for under $15, thinking it was quite steal, considering that I saw it at a record shop for $35+ earlier that week. Turns out the one I got at WM was a single disc version, whereas the record store was selling the more substancial 2-disc version.

Yes, I glanced at the two versions at Amazon.com...the cheaper version has about 16 songs on it but the more expensive one has over 60. Quite a difference. My own copy hasn't arrived yet but I expect it any day now.

My copy arrived the other day - hopefully I will have time to check it out soon. Great looking package though, and nice job on the booklet and liner notes.

I found the same thing....smaller version at WalMart, bigger online. WM can keep that little'un. Mom almost bought it and I stopped her so I could check it out online.

PBS was running this last night. Staggering how good what I saw was. Can't wait for DAD to open it this Christmas. There's also some Christmas specials Cash did in 1976 and 77. I picked up I Walk the Line for dad for just $5.88 on Black Thursday. Thought I might pick up the Hee Haw 7-dvd set featuring Cash on one of the epiosdes as well. I sure wish they'd do better getting Hee Haw out. Give that task to Shout! FActory.

Anyway, a Johnny Cash Christmas is on the way. These TV shows will definitely be a highlight.

I just watched the four hour, 2 DVD set of the best of the Johnny Cash Show over the weekend. This is the most wonderful thing that I've seen in years. It makes you teary eyed. I just want to scream how great this set is from the roof tops. I want to tell as many people as I can to just buy this set. There is no excuse not to. Also, on a home theater system the sound quality is incredible.

My dad seemed happy with this when he unwrapped it at Christmas. I've yet to hear anything back. What an old fart!

Anyway, glad to hear somebody is enjoying it. The Cash family did an outstanding job getting all that music cleared and releasing it. Kudos to them. I noticed a ton of Cash DVDs on the shelf at Walmart while Christmas shopping. Doug, don't stop with this one!

Btw, walmart had the large version and the small when I was buying. Get the one that's $30 and you'll be safe.

I got mine from Amazon and I think it was $36.00. I probably paid too much, but after seeing how good it was I think it would have been a bargain at twice the price. The set was definitely a labor of love from all those involved.
