WHERE is "Empty Nest"???

This show was very popular, and would be a natural follow up to "The Golden Girls," which inspired it. Why do these types of shows get buried while other low-rated, off-the-wall ones get released??

Im not sure where this is but it is something I would be interested in. Also surprising to me is that there has been no Golden Girls collectors pack with all the seasons bundled yet.

I'd probably would never buy Golden Girls, it is a fine show though but Empty Nest would be a must own series to me.

Re: WHERE is "Empty Nest"???

Empty Nest was syndicated for a few years, but then vanished without a trace like a lot of popular 1980s/early 1990s shows. You'd think with Golden Girls running longer on Lifetime than it did on NBC, this would get picked up.

Disney's dropped off on their TV DVDs of late other than current ABC series. I heard they were licensing them out in case other companies wanted them.

The only way I'm rebuying Golden Girls in a complete series set is if they redo the first two seasons in stereo and find an uncut copy of the one cut episode, and add extras of substance.

Since GG is basically done on DVD I'm surprised this one hasnt' at least been considered. I don't think music rights would be an issue in this case.

I've never seen this series but would buy it in a heartbeat. I enjoyed the crossovers on TGG and I would love to see more of Sophia. Also, I want The Golden Palace!

Re: WHERE is "Empty Nest"???

Well, there's still no Golden Girls Complete Series set which I think would be the first priority over EN. Yes, EN did well in the ratings but it was hardly considered a huge hit or the pop culture phenom that GG became.

I love EN and would like to see it on DVD, however I doubt that it's considered to be that important. Another problem is that it's a well-written, funny, intelligent, adult show. Apparently the average DVD consumer doesn't like this one bit. They much prefer inane, badly acted, confusing, big budget sci-fi shows instead.

Perhaps if Nurse Laverne had been a Transformer . . .

I could be wrong, but has Buena Vista released any of their individual season sets in a series collection, a la The West Wing, Friends or X Files? I thought those sort of sets were the purvue of Sony, Warner and, starting soon, Fox.

That being said, if BV decided to release a Complete Series, I'd get rid of the individual sets and get this one in a heartbeat.
