Father Knows Best?

Is FKB in public domain now like some Ozzie and Harriet episodes? I wondered if it is at all likely we'll ever see a release of FKB?

No to both questions.

Re: Father Knows Best?

It's sad that Father Knows Best, one of the great sitcoms, is still not even on the radar... It was a huge hit at the time and there are a lot of boomers, like myself, who'd love to have these episodes on DVD.

I'm not holding my breath for any B&W Columbia/Screen Gems shows.

Heck,I'd be happy if they just started releasing those Year-By-Year "3 Stooges" box sets they've been talking about doing for the last couple
of years!

Re: Father Knows Best?

Those 3 Stooges box sets are being handled by the theatrical film division. I think Sony Pictures Television is involved with the TV DVDs to some extent, which is why the same blithe attitude towards their library extends to DVDs of pre-Seinfeld shows and total ignorance of anything that predates Bewitched. Do these shows even get offered in syndication anymore?

John,

Good point about the 'Boomers. I'm one of them and it's something that I've wondered about for a while. With a lot of us out here and with disposable income waiting to land into the studio's hands, I don't understand why this, among many more, of the 50's-mid 60's series aren't seeing at least partial releases. Maybe I'm mis-reading the "wants" of the majority of 'Boomers out there.

- Jeff Willis (Mainly a late 50's - mid-90's TV/DVD Collector)

"Combat! A Selmur Production"

"Two American scientists are lost in the swirling maze of past and future ages during the first experiments on America's greatest and most secret project...THE TIME TUNNEL! Tony Newman and Doug Phillips now tumble helplessly toward a new, fantastic adventure...somewhere along the infinite corridors of Time."

I think this is real: supposedly, Oct. 30 for the first set, 1934-1936. There's a thread on it on the Film and Documentary board.
