Hercules and Xena

According to TVShowsonDVD both are available in new complete series box sets.

The descriptions refer to directors cuts.

I currently own the Region 2 Xena episodes and Region 1 box sets of Hercules.

Certainly the Hercules set looks to contain the boxes I already own.

I was wondering if anyone could confirm the situation regarding both Xena and Hercules:

(1) Is Hercules identical to the copies I already own.

(2) I presume that Xena is different to the Region 2 copies but is it worth upgrading?

(3) What exactly are directors cuts and how many of them are there?

Regarding the directors cuts, I think that was only for the final episode if I remember correctly.

Is the outer case/box to fit all the sets into cardboard? I might get that, but if its just cardboard, forget it.
