Re: Johnny Bravo DVD
I'm almost positive that Jonny Modlin is some kind of spambot, since he has repeatedly Spammed Toon Zone and other forums with these exact same goddamn questions (Johnny Bravo, Gargoyles, Sonic the Hedgehog).
Now, as for JB, Cartoon Network Austrialia (Through Madman, who acquired rights to the CN/[as] shows down under in February) is releasing the first season next month (along with Cow and Chicken, Dexter and Courage), so if you want an English non-bootleg of Johnny, IMPORT! IMPORT! IMPORT!
CN's American release pattern appears to be different from what they're doing in Australia (release several seasons for a few shows in the former, first seasons only for a bunch of shows in the latter). However, I'd imagine Johnny Bravo, Courage, etc. will come to Region 1 in time, especially since they're pretty poular fan favorites.
When might be a while, though. The 5 CN shows on DVD as of now (Ed, Edd 'n Eddy, Ben 10, Foster's, The Powerpuff Girls, and Billy and Mandy) have anywhere from 2-5 more seasons unreleased that will probably make up the bulk of what CN puts out in 2008, plus there a couple of choice modern shows not on the "Season set" roster yet that have a likely chance of making 2008 as well (Camp Lazlo, Megas XLR). That more than anything is going to be the biggest stumbling block for the older shows (provided CN sticks with releasing 7-8 sets a year) simply because of the sheer number of more modern shows with lengthy season counts.
I could definitely see one older show, Dexter most likely, filling up Samurai Jack's niche on the release schedule, if Megas or Lalzo don't get it. Hopefully it won't be too long a wait before the older shows make thier way onto DVD
