ALFRED HITCHCOCK PRESENTS?
Any word when--or if--Season 3 of "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" will be coming out?

Re: ALFRED HITCHCOCK PRESENTS?
I just received a message in my email from tvshowsondvd.com a few minutes ago, Charles. Coming out Oct. 9th! I almost responded in the thread on "the independants" as you happened to mention AHP there. And you're dead on about the "noir cynicism".

Re: ALFRED HITCHCOCK PRESENTS?
How was season 3? A lot of those old shows got better after the first or second season....they seemed to mature, writing-wise. Just wondering if that's the case with AHP?

Re: ALFRED HITCHCOCK PRESENTS?
This is indeed good news. If I recall correctly Season 3 contains, among other things, the most famous episode in the whole series, "Lamb to the Slaughter", which Hitch directed himself.

Re: ALFRED HITCHCOCK PRESENTS?
ALFRED HITCHCOCK PRESENTS was very consistent in quality of stories, performance, and production values. Thst was not the case with THE ALFRED HITCHCOCK HOUR in the sixties. Like many anthologies or series from the fifties and sixties, quality was not supported by the leap from the half-hour to the hour (except maybe in the case of 'The Naked City"). The shift was more about padding than incisiveness and depth. Imagine an O.Henry novel!
"The Glass Eye"--directed by Hitchcock--which starts the third season is one of the most memorable shows, as is "A Dip in the Pool."

Re: ALFRED HITCHCOCK PRESENTS?
Great to hear that Alfred Hitchcock Presents will get this far, as I had my doubts!
Who were some of the guest stars in season 3?

Good to hear. 3 down, 7 to go. Should get the hour episodes by the time I hit my 70s!

Let's see what we have here...
William Shatner, Jessica Tandy, Jack Klugman, E.G. Marshall, Vincent Price, James Gregory, Nehemiah Persoff, Harry Belaver, Claude Akins, Steven Hill, Harry Guardino, Hugh Marlowe, Carol Lynley, Vince Edwards, Peter Lorre, George Peppard, Phyllis Thaxter, Raymond Bailey, Joseph Cotton, John McIntire, Carl Betz, Skip Homeier, Martin Balsam, Leif Erickson, David Opatoshu, James Drury, Jeanette Nolan, Barbara Bel Geddes, Michael Rennie, Anthony George, Gary Merrill, Ellen Corby, Perry Lopez, Ken Lynch, Harold J. Stone, John McGiver, James Best, Steve Forrest, Keenan Wynn, Fay Wray, Jerry Paris, Phillip Pine, Hume Cronyn and Tom Helmore.
Yes, I believe there was a wee bit of acting talent represented in this season.
