Re: Timeless Media Group - New Releases

I tell you, I support TIMELESS and their releases - I was pure genius to use their own sourced prints!

Heck, I know a couple of the collectors who supplied them 16mm - so I know they got decent prints to use!

Still, better 16mm from the loving hands of collectors than butchered prints from the studios!

Movies Unlimited is listing 1/28 as a release date for "LARAMIE in Color": Part I with "all 28 episodes" from the 3rd Season. I don't understand what the "Part I" is all about.

Well, color episodes from Season 4 could be "in color" part 2

Re: Timeless Media Group - New Releases

Just watched most of the first "M Squad" DVD. The first episode looked pretty good and I was encouraged but the second episode is so washed out it's barely watchable. Episode 3 isn't bad, but 4 and 5 are not so hot. It almost looks as if they used different transfer equipment for some of the episodes but, unlike other sets of theirs that I have, this one so far is the most variable in pq.

We know timeless gathered prints from several sources and transferes to complete the series.

Timeless didn't get transfers directly from Universal on this release and others, like "Checkmate" and "Arrest and Trial." They are simply getting the license to release "M Squad" on DVD from Universal but have to come up with their own print sources, which include 16 mm prints submitted by collectors, hence the disparity in the picture quality from one episode to the next. It may be not the most ideal way of releasing a television series, but at least Timeless has resurrected a number of older shows that would never have received a major studio release.
