WHV Press Release: Full House: Season Seven
WARNER HOME VIDEO RELEASES THE SEVENTH SEASON OF
FULL HOUSE, THE CHARMING FAMILY COMEDY,
ON DVD AUGUST 7TH 2007
The Seventh Volume of This Top-Selling Classic TV on DVD Franchise
Will Feature 24 Episodes on Four Discs
BURBANK, CA (April 24, 2007) – The zaniness of the Tanner household returns to delight viewers again when Warner Home Video releases the seventh season of the top-selling classic Full House on DVD August 7, 2007. Full House: The Complete Seventh Season will include 24 episodes from the show’s seventh season in a four-disc set, and will retail for $29.98 SRP.
Viewers of all ages will be captivated by the happenings in the lives of the Tanner girls, D.J., Stephanie and Michelle, during the seventh season of Full House. The season starts with the girls returning from a summer at Camp Lakota and Michelle innocently bringing home a stray bunny named Gilbert. The girls are growing up and Danny worries about D.J. spending time alone with her boyfriend Steve in his very own apartment. Michelle on the other hand, decides to quit playing soccer after she scores a goal for the opposite team and Stephanie struggles to make new friends when she attends a new middle school. The other members living in the Tanner household experience their own dilemmas. Twins Alex and Nicky’s behavior gets out of control and begins to affect the whole house. Jesse inherits the run-down Smash Club but must re-model and open it before he can own it. Danny breaks up with Vicky and D.J. breaks up with Steve. At the end of the season, the clan considers selling their beloved house to its previous owner who offers them double of what its worth.
“We think Full House is such an enormous hit with consumers because the show has a way of making viewers feel like they are part of the Tanner household. We become involved with the characters’ daily lives, their joys, disappointments, struggles, achievements, etc. Plus kids of all ages can find someone on the show to relate to,” commented Rosemary Markson, WHV Vice President, TV Marketing. She added, “Anyone who is a Full House fan won’t want to miss this volume of the series because it’s filled with important, memorable moments in the lives of the growing Tanner girls.”
Set in San Francisco, Full House chronicles the adventures of the Tanners, an unconventional family headed by Danny Tanner (Bob Saget), a doting, widowed father who’s left to raise his daughters. With his brother-in-law, the wanna-be rock star “Uncle Jesse” Katsopolis (John Stamos), and his best friend, the stand-up comic Joey Gladstone (Dave Coulier), by his side, Danny learns all about parenting three young girls including eldest daughter D.J. (Candace Cameron), Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) and the baby of the family, Michelle (Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen). The seventh season of the show also stars Lori Laughlin as Rebecca, Jesse’s wife. Blake and Dylan Tuomy-Wilhoit, portray Nicky and Alex, Jesse and Rebecca’s twin sons. Scott Weinger is regularly featured as Steve Hale, D.J.’s steady boyfriend.
Full House originally debuted on ABC on September 22, 1987 and was broadcast until May 23, 1995. Today, the show airs in syndication on Nick at Nite and ABC Family. It continues to rank in the top 5 for girls ages 8-15 and in the top 10 for boys ages 8-11.

Re: WHV Press Release: Full House: Season Seven
not trying to threadcrap, but it's kinda sad that so many good Warner shows have been abandoned after season 1, yet a show as widely lambasted as Full House has made it to season 7 in little over 2 years?

Re: WHV Press Release: Full House: Season Seven
I, for one, am extremely glad to read this! As you mention, Jay, Full House is not a very highly-regarded show, and I thought for sure that it would join the many other television shows whose DVD releases are abandoned after only one or two seasons. With only one season left to go after this release, it looks like Full House will likely make it all the way to the end, and very quickly, at that!
Like you, I can think of many apparently abandoned shows (like Everwood) that I'd like to complete on DVD, but I'll save that for the relevant threads. This thread is about Full House and I simply couldn't be more excitied that we're already up to season seven!

maybe when Warner's done with FH, they can go back to Night Court, Murphy Brown and all the other shows they treated like dirt

Can't say that I was in agreement with that prediction. Full House was a hugely popular and successful show, and still is (I can't recall any time when it wasn't available in syndication) Also, it's a very safe, family show, which seems to be why people want these days in comedy. Sadly enough, we really can't say the same thing for Night Court, Perfect Strangers and even Murphy brown, which have not been in any kind of regular syndication for years and have pretty much been forgotten. You can't really blame WB for discontinuing a show that is not selling, as frustrating as it is (although they haven't tried "Perfect Strangers" yet, but there is no reason for them to believe it will be any more successful that "Night Court" and "Murphy Brown")
I'm not a fan of the whole hype of downloading movies. But I do think that the studios should set up some kind of downloading service of tv shows that might not realistically see a DVD release.

well, about the Full House thing, at least amongst people in my age group (25-35), it is perhaps the ultimate show (besides Diff'rent Strokes) that people cite as "I used to love that show when I was a kid and can't make it through an episode today". There are a lot of shows from that era that have really crossed into the "I'm 30 and this show was on when I was a kid but I still love watching Roseanne/The Golden Girls/Cheers", not really the case with FH, which is why I'm surprised the DVD sales are so huge.

Re: WHV Press Release: Full House: Season Seven
Hugely popular and successful ≠ good. This show proves that.
Even as a child, I hated this show, everything about it, and everyone associated with it, and I hate it even more today. There are plenty of "safe, family comedies" that are actually funny and have a basic level of competence in their writing and acting. This isn't one of them, and nor was anything that came out of the Miller/Boyett/TGIF bilge machine. The fact it still airs in syndication and on TWO cable networks, whereas plenty of superior shows (like almost everything ever made) can barely get exposure today on TV or on DVD is maddening. Does a show have to start with (and rate) an "F" to get the time of day from WB?
The only show I despise more is "Friends," which WB has been regurgitating endlessly on DVD.
The only way this can be making money for WB is because there are no extras and little remastering involved.

You can blame them for not doing any advertising and putting very little effort into letting people know it is available. You can also blame them for putting a $26.95 MSRP on Night Court's 13-episode first season.
