One Day At A Time - April 24!!!
according to DavisDVD, the long-awaited first season of One Day At A Time will be released on April 24th, the 2005 reunion special will be included as an extra.
I hope this set does well because IMO, the show really peaks around the middle years and would be great to watch it again

Re: One Day At A Time - April 24!!!
This is great news, but one thing worries me:
The cast admitted in an interview in the late 1990s that they felt the first season was lackluster (this was one of the TV Guide: Behind the Sitcom Scandals shows). I hope nonetheless it does well enough for Sony to see this show through.
On the HD Software forum, someone said they "turn[ed] over a new leaf" with their Blu-Ray codecs. With TV shows on DVD they need to turn over a new TREE.

yes, I agree. Didn't Ann have a boyfriend in season one? The show flowed it's best with her as a single woman

Not a lot of love on this board for ODAAT! Well, even though I've heard that season one is not the best, I'm looking forward to it as I've never seen it. And I'm also happy that they're including the reunion special. It was fairly well done, as those specials go, and the whole cast looked great.

Yes, she had a boyfriend named David in the first season...I think the name of the actor who played him was Richard Masur. I never cared for him. I find it interesting that this is being released the same date as another long-awaited CBS sitcom, WKRP In Cincinatti. I plan to buy both.

I will probably get this one too... I don't remember that much about it... but I do remember watching it when I was younger.

Re: One Day At A Time - April 24!!!
Sony should have put seasons 1 and 2 together on the same set. Since season 1 was only a partial season.I believe thats what they did with the first 2 seasons of the facts of life. There maybe some fans who do not like the first season and they may decide to pass on it.and they could be enough of a loss in sales to prevent season 2 from coming.

Re: One Day At A Time - April 24!!!
Season 2 had 24 episodes, so that would be 39 together, plus the reunion, would need 5 discs. They should have done that.
Facts of Life S1 + S2 is only 29 episodes (S2 has 16 due to the 1980 Writer's Guild strike).

I agree, paired with the fact it's been 2 1/2 years since s1 was even announced as possibly coming soon

Re: One Day At A Time - April 24!!!
I hope everyone who has interest in this series buys a copy of Season 1. I'd really like to get hold of the entire series over the next few years. It's impossible to find in reruns where I live and I've got a lot of good memories of it.
Think I'll make sure to pre-order it over at amazon...

Re: One Day At A Time - April 24!!!
I am really worried about the impending sales of this release. It seems like for the most part (from here and various other boards) to be meeting with much indifference. I have a friend who works for Comcast in Indianapolis (where the show was set!) who told me that they ended up pulling it from their TubeTime service because of a lack of viewership... and we're talking about where the show is set. I mean, some ODAAT is better than nothing, but to me this was truly a rare sitcom that never dipped in all nine years, although sharks did circulate a bit when Glenn Scarpelli seemed to be the center of every episode for awhile

Re: One Day At A Time - April 24!!!
It would help if they would show it on actual TV stations, not on some VOD service only available to Comcast subscribers.

Re: One Day At A Time - April 24!!!
No offense to fans of this show, what few there are here, but this was a perfect example of a very mediocre show at best that benefitted from always managing to be in cushy time slots, buffeted by truly popular series.
