Re: Sigmund Season 2

Hey Chris,
I haven't heard anything recently about S2 of Sigmund. It seems like we are going thru a longer than normal dry spell for Krofft releases. Rhino has done a fantastic job with "Land of the Lost", "Lidsville", "Bugaloos", & "Sigmond & the SeaMonsters".

Does anyone know why the dry spell with Sid & Marty Krofft releases?

I know that Dr. Shrinker was supposedly coming out soon?

Speaking of which..."Dr. Shrinker" was a segment on "The Krofft Supershow." As far as I know, "The Krofft Supershow" has never been seen intact since its original network run. The various segments have been seen, but even when Embassy released a whole bunch of Krofft on VHS in the 1980s, they never released KSS as a show. Do the complete shows even exist? Any rights issues beyond what they'd have for the individual segments? (Are the performances of Kaptain Kool & The Kongs and The Bay City Rollers lost to history?)

I wonder why they didn't just do "Sigmund" as a complete series set. I don't have a list right in front of me, but Season 2 didn't even have that many episodes, did it?

Re: Sigmund Season 2

17 episodes in S1, 12 in S2.

Could've easily been 1 set.

A cable station in California was running a block of Krofft shows on Saturday morning fairly recently and they ran both seasons of the Krofft Supershow. The first season episodes they aired were in the hour format. When the show debuted on ABC in 76, it was 90 minutes and they included slightly edited reruns of the Lost Saucer. After the first few months on ABC, they dropped the Lost Saucer segments (and a few Kongs bits) and made the show an hour.

Supposedly, the station looked into running the Krofft Superstar Hour with the Bay City Rollers, but the costs, because of the music, were too high.
