Does anyone know anything about the reports of an episode being truncated by 10 minutes? I read a number of customer reviews on Amazon about said problem. I e-mailed Anchor Bay to confirm and have heard nothing. I'd like to buy the second season, but am wary without even knowing if a replacement disc if available.

Yes, one of the episodes is missing about 8 minutes (can't remember which episode, but it's on one of the first 3 discs). My wife and I have been watching Season 2 and were sitting there wondering "what happened" when one of the episodes went from still not having found the killer to the wrap-up scene after the case is solved. The running time of the episode ended up being around 37 minutes.

Have you tried contacting Anchor Bay to see if there is a replacement?

Did they ever correct this? I was about to purchase this set, but I won't if it is still defective.

I got a correct set first time around (pure luck!), and I know that replacement discs were sent out to those who got defective sets. I assume sets released on down the line were corrected.
