Re: Who wants Universal 60's-70's TV series on DVD?
"Four In One" was a different collection of series, separate from, and starting later than, "The Name of the Game." The series that aired under the "Four in One" banner in 1970 were "McCloud," "Night Gallery," "San Francisco International Airport," and "The Psychiatrist." Another group of Universal shows rotated under another umbrella title, "The Bold Ones," on Sunday nights: "The Lawyers," "The New Doctors," the Emmy-winning "The Senator," and "The Protectors."
I'd love to see some of those out on DVD as well as "The Name of the Game" and "It Takes a Thief." One of the Encore channels ran some NOTG episodes several years ago, but not the whole series. TV Land ran a handful of "It Takes a Thief" and "The New Doctors" episodes awhile back, but I think edited them pretty heavily to get in more commercials.
I just hope that, if Universal does release any of these series, they do a better job of it than they've done on some of their releases. I was just reading some of the user reviews of "McCloud" over at Amazon and now I'm glad I haven't picked it up yet. I hope they don't mess up "Alias Smith & Jones," coming in just a few weeks.
