cool, any word on extras? I said I'd stop after season four but with only one season left, may as well finish it

March 7th is a wednesday so that is likely not the correct street date.
Looks Like it is coming March 6th which is a tuesday

Re: Moonlighting Season 5: March 7, 2007
I'm very torn. I was devoted to this show when it first aired only to watch it go down in flames like no show I'd ever seen before. I don't have good memories of the final season. But it's no longer being shown in syndication, either. So perhaps I'm judging it too harshly.

No i agree S5 is terrible! But i also think the downfall started with S4, which was a pretty bad season aswell with a couple gems still mixed in. While S1-S3 were just brilliant you can't do better TV than those first 3 years!
I still am yet to buy S4 but i am considering picking that up and perhaps S5 just for completeness sake but i dunno it's a tuff call!

Re: Moonlighting Season 5: March 7, 2007
how is s5 compared to s4 (which is spotty at best, but "ok")? I know s5 is actually David and Maddie-centric again as opposed to how Agnes (who is great as a secondary character but not a lead) and Bert dominated too much of season 4?

Re: Moonlighting Season 5: March 7, 2007
I remember some decent episodes in season 5. There was an attempt to return to the "case of the week" format instead of the continuing story of David and Maddie's relationship. "Plastic Fantastic Lovers" was pretty great, as I recall (and features a great dig at Mark Harmon too).
I'll definitely pick season 5 up.

Re: Moonlighting Season 5: March 7, 2007
Just bought this today. Even though it's Moonlighting's worst season, there's still greatness here and there, and it's miles better than most other television.
The packaging is a bit of a disaster. After three sets in identical cardboard book-type packaging, Lionsgate decided to change everything for this one. It's in a keepcase, but the world's thickest keepcase, about an inch thick, so it least it's about the same size as the other sets. They also put a cardboard cover on it that makes it sort of look like the others on the shelf. At least some thought went into it not looking totally different.
The keepcase is really poorly designed, however. The third disc is held in by a junky little knob. At the first Best Buy I went to, disc 3 was a floater in all three sets they had, covered in scratches. The next BB I went to had about thirty copies of it, and I managed to find a good set, but loads of those sets also had floaters that you could hear by shaking the packaging.
I haven't watched the set yet, but the only extras listed are audio commentaries and screentests from Willis and Shepherd. Everyone pretty much acknowledges that the show went seriously downhill in seasons 4 and 5, so I'm not surprised the extras are so slim, I'm just glad I can finally retire my VHS copies - that is with the exception of "The Lady In The Iron Mask," from season 2, a pity they never corrected the use of the incorrect music track. Otherwise, Lionsgate has done a fantastic job with my favorite series of all time.

Re: Moonlighting Season 5: March 7, 2007
I agree that they did a good job with the series, but the diffferent packaging is puzzling. I thought from the first release that the sets needed a slipcase. And what the hell is that funky looking white insert that holds two discs?

I agree. One of my biggest compliments to Lionsgate on these sets has been the packaging. All of the seasons thus far were classy, well done book style digipaks. Someone must have figured they would save a few pennies on this set by converting to the keepcase/slip cover combo.
