Cobra tv series coming to dvd...

The 1990's tv series "Cobra" starring Michael Dudikoff will be coming to dvd in early 2007. This according to Stephen Cannell's website. It will only be released in Canada.

See the info at www.tvshowsondvd.com

Here is a synopsis of the show for those who don't know about it...
Quote:
Robert "Scandal" Jackson, Jr., is an ex-Navy SEAL who went A.W.O.L. after refusing to blow up an enemy command center housing civilians. He disappeared to the wilderness of Alaska, changing his name and appearance, and became a teacher in a small Inuit community. But a part of his past caught up to him and he was shot in the face, his comatose body left for dead. He awoke in the hospital three weeks later and found himself with a new face and a new chance at life, thanks to a woman named Danielle LaPoint. Danielle offered him a job with Cobra, an undercover anti-crime agency that provides justice for victims who haven't benefited from the system.

Bring back John Doe! Or at least resolve the cliff-hanger with a 2hr movie or as an extra on a dvd release.

Re: Cobra tv series coming to dvd...

Just got mine in today. I've watched the first 3 eps., and there are some very slight glitches that popped up maybe once or twice an episode. However, there is a disclaimer when the disc starts that there are "technical anomalies inherent in the source material". It hasn't detracted from enjoying the show. Looking forward to some other little known shows filmed in Vancouver to come out, especially Street Justice season 2.

I'm still waiting for my copy to be shipped. VEI can be so frustrating with their releases. I had pre-ordered my copy and, on the day of release, received an e-mail saying there would be a one week delay. Yesterday marked one week and still no confirmation that the dvd was shipped. It's so annoying.

I had the reverse happen. I preordered from Amazon.ca. Around the release date. I got an email stating it was delayed a few weeks. 2 days later I got an email stating it shipped.

Really? Jeez, amazon.ca hasn't been so kind to me lately. They still haven't shipped it and they haven't answered the e-mail about my order. I wish I could buy it online from somewhere else. Do you know if anyone else carries it? Thanks for the info.

Re: Cobra tv series coming to dvd...

I've been checking Amazon for this release for ages, and then with all the Canadian talk read post one again by todd s " It will only be released in Canada." Hrrr....

Thanks for posting. I do not like the sound of this at amazon.ca “Availability: Usually ships within 3 to 6 weeks. Ships from and sold by” Hmmm... Sooner the better in my case, it only had a limited run on Australian TV.

Will post here when my copy leaves!

Re: Cobra tv series coming to dvd...

If you can't find it available at amazon.ca, get it from a Canadian seller on eBay. I missed the window for Street Justice S1 on amazon; when I checked on it, they were sold out a week after it became available. So I went to eBay and found a number of sellers offering it, many with a reasonable buy it now price. It arrived to me in the southeastern US in around 10 days. EBay will almost always have a dvd available from someone if you can't find it through other retailers or online vendors. Good luck to you, I really enjoyed my set. Small technical anomalies in a number of eps, but nothing to really detract from the pleasure of watching a show that I enjoyed over a decade ago.

Thanks! That's exactly what I just did. I cancelled my order with amazon.ca. They changed my ship date again to March 16. It feels like they don't even know if they will ever get any in stock. It just annoys me that you can pre-order and still not be guaranteed a copy. They should have a limit in cases like this where they don't take more orders than supply, especially if they are unsure of the supplier's stock. Either way, I bought a copy now and I can't wait to get it. I'll post here when my copy comes too. Thanks for your help guys!

Re: Cobra tv series coming to dvd...

My DVD looks like it will finally ship after problems with Amazon.ca store.

The last time I posted above, I was told they was a glitch in the system what held my order up, then days later was told that my Credit Card did not work (amazon.ca mistake) since all Amazon countries use my currant card with no problems. After all these problems I hope I will never go through these problems again with Amazon.ca!

I hope it arrives in the next two weeks so I can start catching up with this series.
