Re: Paladin Withdrawals
Couldn't agree more, Dave. If Mr. Favor was running things for the CBS tv-on-dvd division he'd be telling them to "Head 'em up! Move 'em out!"
There are many great episodes to be mined for dvd for both shows, including the excellent 2-parter from HGWT's S4, "Quiet Night in Town". S4 and S5 are better still than S3 as that season was rushed to get Boone to Broadway on time, coupled with the fact that the show's right hand man Sam Rolfe left mid-season and the series was floundering, trying to get back on track.

Seconded Dave !
Don't forget Cheyenne either.
However I suspect we may not see further releases of any of these.
It would appear westerns don't do particularly well on DVD.Witness the reluctance to issue Gunsmoke as season sets, the reported low sales of 'Big Valley' (though at least its getting a second chance) , the failure to follow up 'Wanted, Dead or Alive'with Vol 2.& the non appearance of top rated shows such as 'Bonanza', Wagon Train' 'Maverick'etc.
I know a number of 'Bonanza' fans who have been importing the S2 set from
Germany.
I suspect unless independents pick up these shows they will never see the light of day.
Odd though that a something as low key as 'Sergeant Preston of the Yukon' can have 2 seasons, with a third promised, issued, yet a top notch show like 'Rawhide' cannot.

I Agree on the 3rd Season the overall stories seemed rushed. I enjoyed the 1st two season alot. C'mon Paramount let's finish what you started

Maybe Gord Lacey can wield his Power and question CBS on the Future of both Series.

Re: Paladin Withdrawals
Yes, and Yes! "Have Gun, Will Travel" seems to be the one that should garner the most concern from us, since it's hiatus has been a good bit longer than "Rawhide." But I desperately want both shows to continue!
Gary "while I'm thrilled with Paramount's most recent announcements, there are still some shows out there that need to be followed up on" O.
