Eureka: Season 1??

Any news on this show coming to dvd? Up here in Canada the season finale airs tomorrow night but I know that the US has aired it awhile ago. Since it was picked up for a 2nd season (YAY) I was hoping to hear something soon.

I would be interested in this too. I missed a lot of the last episode. It is one of my favorite new shows and I look forward to the next season.

Re: Eureka: Season 1??

Like everyone else I've been trying to find out if Eureka is coming on DVD anytime soon. I think I found my answer while browsing Sci-Fi's Eureka boards

"Yes, there will be a season 1 dvd. At that FX Con Colin talked about how he was going through all of the deleted scenes and watching them to make sure they were all appropriate. Also he said there won't be many bloopers because they do not have a very large budget and they take it very seriously if there is a mistake. He indicated that the DVDs would be out sometime in the spring, but did not mention a date."

I can't wait, I wish there was a definite date but at least we know that is coming.

Glad to hear about this, and Psych too! Hopefully, we'll get The Dresden Files when its season ends.

I agree also on ``Dresden Files''...that one I'd buy also on DVD. Given the fact that ``Eureka'' will be released, I'm sure in due time we'll get the rumors and then the confirmation that it's coming at some point next fall.

Yeah I hope the Dresden Files isn't far behind and they include the 2 hr pilot (they only aired a 1 hr edited version).

Re: Eureka: Season 1??

I was at a big box retailer today and saw three copies of this on the shelf (oops!).

The packaging is very cool. It features environmentally-safe material and if you look at the back cover, there is a small box that says what the packaging is made of. I can't remember by heart what it said (I didn't buy it), but it says it was made in Eureka and that part of the packaging was made with potatoes. The disc trays look like blue foam with spots in them, from what I saw from the top view in the plastic.

UPDATE: I never got to editing this message but now that Eureka: Season 2 has been officially announced for 7/15/08, I wanted to say that this eco-packaging stinks. All three of my discs aren't secured because the foam is too soft and does not hold the discs properly. Season 2's packaging will feature the same type of packaging and I hope the spindles are stronger!

I totally agree! I actually broke one of the spindles on the Season One set trying to get...the...darn...DVD...to...stay...put.

I can understand eco-friendly packaging in some areas. But how many people are ever going to throw away the case to a TV show DVD set? I mean, are DVD cases clogging the landfills?

Actually, with as bad as the Season One case is, a lot of people may have replaced them with more traditional cases (thus creating more waste instead of less).

I had hoped that they would do away with this failed experiment for the Season Two set. We can only hope that the case is made of sterner stuff than the last set.

Re: Eureka: Season 1??

After several months, my "eco-friendly" packaging started disentegrating. I ended up getting three slim case replacements and removing the blue stuff and filing the slim cases in the outer cover. Only way to keep original outer artwork and have all discs still held within the package. Not perfect, but the only solution I could devise.

Sorry they are using the same "eco-friendly" stuff again.

Doug
