According to Boyd Kirkland, part of the creative team of X-Men Evolution, after the long lull between releases we'll finally be seeing episodes from Season 3 coming to DVD. And not only that, they're going to release Season 3 as a complete season set instead of just releasing a few episodes at a time like they have for Season 1 and 2. What follows is a repost of his post that was reported on Comics2film.com. We can expect to see the Season 3 DVD Box Set released in May to tie-in with X-Men 3.

Quote:
Jim Harvey: I hope Boyd doesn't mind but here's a recent post, concerning the next DVD release for X-Men:Evolution.

Boyd Kirkland: I was interviewed for this over a year ago, and discussed several of the things you're interested in. I believe they also did interviews with Craig Kyle and Greg Johnson, as well as Steve Gordon. They also have additional material from earlier interviews and production art etc. that hasn't been seen yet, but I don't know if they intend to use any of it. And to answer an earlier post, I've told that season 3 will be released as a set.

The only question is whether they'll release the full season, or hold back a few to try to even up the Season 4 set. Since there was only 9 episodes in Season 4 compared to 13 in Season 3.

Episode 35: Blind Alley
Mystique escapes Area 51 with one thing on her mind: vengeance against the person who locked her in there.

Episode 36: X-Treme Measures
Evan's mutation is becoming more and more difficult to control, and so is his temper. He finally finds solace and acceptance in a most unlikely place -- but at what cost?

Episode 37: The Toad, The Witch and The Wardrobe
As Wanda continues the search for her father, Toad goes to extremes to try and win her heart.

Episode 38: Self Possessed
The numerous personalities Rogue has absorbed over the years start waging war for dominance. Will Rogue be able to regain control, or will another personality take over forever?

Episode 39: Under Lock & Key
The original X-Men as introduced in the comics - Cyclops, Jean Gray, Beast, Iceman, and Angel are brought together for a very important mission.

Episode 40: Cruise Control
The X-Kids go on vacation. But what would a cruise be without sun, sea, fun, friends, and maybe even love. Oh, and massive icebergs and out of control volcanoes?

Episode 41: X23
Wolverine has been cloned; only this time the new Weapon X is a 14-year-old girl! But X23 is volatile and dangerous and blames Wolverine for her traumatic childhood, so when she goes renegade will Wolverine meet his match?"

Episode 42: Dark Horizon I
Mesmero returns, but this time Rogue is his target. Now the X-Men have to team up with their rivals to try and save their teammate and stop the release of Apocalypse!

Episode 43: Dark Horizon II

Good news.

Bring back John Doe! Or at least resolve the cliff-hanger with a 2hr movie or as an extra on a dvd release.

Will they revisit 1 and 2 for full sets, a la Teen Titans (got singles, no Feb is seeing a set release)?

This would be nice alongside the 90s cartoon for X3 in May!

We have no concrete idea what WHV's plans are, except for what Mr. Kirkland said. Personally, I'd love to see the first two seasons re-released into "season sets." My snapper cases are already warping.

I'd buy this if the first two seasons were released in sets. Otherwise it just takes up too much precious space on my shelves...

Movies I would purchase instantly if they were available in their correct aspect ratio:
Death Trap, Innocent Blood, The Shadow, and Remo Williams

Mike, would you mind removing the body of the news item from your post? We've updated the news on the site (which is one of the reasons we ask people not to copy/paste the text into forums).

I'll start buying X-Men dvd's when the actual animated series shows up, not Evolution. I can't belive we're not seeing this around X3 time. What a stupid move not to release it for then.

I buy season sets only, none of these individual releases. I hate individual releases, because then you have to track them all down, sometimes you cannot find them, and you are missing a few, so you can never complete a series. Costs more money too.

It's good that season 3 is full, but without 1 and 2 being full releases, what's the point?

And yes, I am still waiting for the early 90s Xmen series as well, I hope they get smart and release it as full seasons, if they ever release them. If not, they lose potential customers.

Would love to get the 90's X-Men in season sets, but I am not holding my breath. I would also love to see the 90's Spider-Man in season sets.
