Update on Soul Food DVD
I know some of you are probably like enough already...but I wanted to give you one more update about the Soul Food DVD. I wanted to email Paramount the sites of the many petitions online concerning the release of the subsequent seasons of Soul Food. I ended up talking to a VERY nice guy in the Home Entertainment department - apparently the Home Entertainment department does not have an email address consumers can use and of course he was not trying to give out personal emails -- and the main site of Paramount does not include an email address as a contact, at least we could not find it.
Nevertheless, he was intrigued by the idea that there were petitions out there...enough so that he asked me to tell him the urls. I gave him the urls to two petition sites that I knew of...and he was immediately surprised that so many people had signed the petition...and he believes executives at Paramount are unaware of such petitions. I told him...people have been talking about this for some time and he could even find people discussing it on the different message boards (i.e. Nicole's, Boris', Amazon, Imdb, etc.).
In the end, he offered to email the petition urls to some executives at Paramount. He's not promising anything of course...but he was kind enough to put it out there that hey there is a major demand for this series out there. But for now I wanted to encourage you all (and your friends) to sign the petitions...so that when the execs do view it...they know we mean business. Hopefully this will work. He also mentioned the fact that since Soul Food has been on BET the demand is higher because Showtime had about 3 million subscribers and BET has about 80 million viewers...so that may help in convincing Paramount that this time the sales will be better. I also mentioned the price issue...but he mentioned how a 5 disc set simply goes for that price. As you can see we spoke for a while--he was really nice and seemingly very interested in what the fans of Soul Food had to say. Well, take care everybody and peace and love.
