I know there are tons of Family Guy fans here, though probably fewer for American Dad. Hopefully some of you will be excited for this:

I gave this show a fighting chance. Being such a fan of 'Family Guy', I really wanted to like this. After watching a few episodes, it just didn't cut it for me. However, I am happy for fans of the show that this is coming out. It looks like they're putting the same effort into this as they have the FG sets.

I think the problem with the show is that Fox said, "Hmm, maybe we made a mistake canceling Family Guy. Let's have Seth McFarlane do another show with similar characters, animation, and humor," then they said, "Ah, hell, let's just resurrect Family Guy." So American Dad ends up playing like Family Guy Lite. Plus McFarlane can't do politcal humor a tenth as good as South Park, or even half as good as The Simpsons.

AG has enough moments that I'll watch it if I come across it on Fox or Adult Swim, but I don't feel compelled to stop what I'm doing and tune to Fox every Sunday. Which means I might buy the DVDs if I see it in one of those $14.99 sales that online stores occasionally hold for Fox series, but it's not something I'll preorder or rush out to get on release day.

I'll get this, but probably the R2 which is due out March 27, even if it extra-less - not that I'm desperate to have it, I'm just not so excited about it I'll import just for extras.
