Hoo-boy, tell me about it. I'll still buy 'em, of course.

contrary to previous reports, I don't think R1 will be getting them this year. We probably would have heard something by now if that were the case.

Re: NIGHT GALLERY Seasons 2 and 3?

Gord, I simply do not know how to interpret that post. When do you think you could elaborate on the scuttlebut you've heard?

Since I honestly wasn't expecting S2 anytime soon, It's not as if its a crushing disappointment- but if it isn't 'on the schedule at some distant point (like in the next year) then I would be more inclined to import it.

let me ask you this then- should I just go ahead and import it...or is there going to be some issue (beyond the PAL issue) with the import sets (like cut eps, quality, etc)?

Maybe it has been licensed to another company? Maybe as a nice series set?

I'm guessing that maybe they will stick on a few bonus extras on the U.S. version. It would be nice if they could include the 1966 B/W version of "Silent Snow, Secret Snow". Gene Kearny wrote and directed the Night Gallery version and the B/W version. I can think of a few other things that they could include (none very expensive). It would be great if this is what is causing the delay.

Re: NIGHT GALLERY Seasons 2 and 3?

I had given up on Night Gallery being released again, but I'm wondering if Universal licensed out the series to the folks at Image. These are the same wonderful people who gave us the gorgeous Twilight Zone sets (and the solid 80s TZ sets). Or perhaps Universal is releasing a complete set as opposed to releasing individual releases of S2-3. Either way Gord is telling us to be patient because there seems to be plans for Night Gallery in the near future on DVD!

I for one am in love with that scenario considering the great care Image has shown with other tv on dvd releases. Hopefully in the next year we'll have something extra special coming our way like remaining season sets with some solid special features.

Re: NIGHT GALLERY Seasons 2 and 3?

I see that Gord has removed his original message.

The plot thickens.

I just noticed this little blurb about another show
Quote:
When Charles In Charge - The Complete 1st Season came to DVD in February 2006, it was released directly by Universal Studios. Now, like before, the show has been "cancelled" by the people who distributed the first season, and is now being "syndicated" for the second season...and presumably onward. Universal has licensed out the show for Charles In Charge - The Complete 2nd Season to be released on DVD as part of the "TV Guide Presents" series. That means it will be distributed by Arts Alliance America's Hart Sharp Video.

I don't know enough about CiC to remember if it had a Universal tag at the end of every syndicated ep- but if this is correct and Universal is licensing out TV properties like this (and Banachek, apparently), then maybe there is hope someone else will put out Night Gallery.
If TV Guide got a hold of it though, it doens't seem like we could expect any extras at all. Their releases so far have been completely bare bones- even down to the jacket graphics which look really rinky dink.

In any case, it is pretty obvious nothing will happen with it this year in R1. I just hope that if movement is made next year, and someone else puts it out- it is either as a complete series set for $200, or else they start with season two.

Has anyone purchased season 2? I'd be interested to know how the picture quality is. I've not heard anything about S2 since Gord's cryptic (since removed) post.
