My daughter and I polished off Batman The Animated Series Vol. 1 this morning. These shows are still so timeless. I wish to heck they were producing new episodes in this continuity instead of that wretched new "The Batman."

There are so many shows that were pretty much blind buys for me on DVD. Frasier, Cheers, Family Guy, Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Arrested Development, Home Improvement.. many of which have gone on to become favourites of mine, yet I'd never seen any of them before I bought the respective first seasons of each show on DVD. Anyone else here find a new favourite show thanks to a blind DVD purchase?

Wonderfalls and Gilmore Girls are both blind buys I feel in love with. Curb Your Enthusiasm, not so much -- I liked season one and would probably buy future seasons at the right drastically discounted price (much like I bought season 1 when it was dirt cheap at the holidays), but I'm not desperate for more.

I have several blind buy sets in my collection that I haven't started watching yet, including Arrested Development, Freaks & Geeks, Millennium, Nip/Tuck, Tru Calling and The West Wing, all of which I picked up at various dirt cheap sales over the last year or so. I hope to find a few more new favorites!

i wouldn't buy DVDs sight unseen. i'd have to have seen it first. not only that, but i'd have to know that i'd rewatch it before plunging. and nowadays (for new shows post 2000) i'd want Hi-Def copies of the shows.

Just polished off season one of Veronica Mars. I came to the show late in season one, so it was very interesting to see the genesis and enjoy almost a whole season's worth of new-to-me episodes. I wish season two would come out tomorrow, even though I followed season two religiously, because I'm ready to watch more. Best show on television today, easily.

It's so annoying how exams/revision get in the way of this challenge! Thankfully I only have one exam left after next Friday (16th), so from then I should be able to resume the challenge in a major way, and get through the two 'big' collections, The Simpsons and Friends, within a month or so, as well as make it through the massive deluge of new and old releases I plan to get this summer.

I'm now officially half-way through, though I won't progress too much beyond 50-55% for a while as there's a massive deluge of sets I plan to pick up over the next two months or so. Still, for now, I'm on target. Anyone else approaching/reached half-way through?
