Hi, I was just wondering when we might expect season 2 of Everwood to come to DVD? I heard the first season sales were reasonable and I see a lot of other WB shows coming with later seasons so why not Everwood?
Thanks for any feedback,
Gaby
ETA: I don't think I will be able to make the chat on the 29th .. Could someone ask then? Thanks.

I'm waiting for this one as well... The first season didn't go on sale until September 2004 and so maybe the second season will come later this year.

Sales of season 1 were poor; it's unlikely they'll release season 2.

There has got to be something we can do about this. Critics (Primarily Entertainment Weekly) love this show. They say that it is great and getting better all the time. It is one of their best shows that very few people are watching. All I can say is that I hope that the studio does release subsequent seasons, because I will be in line to buy them.

I'd definitely buy Season Two as well. But atleast we got the best season on DVD. Season One is a complete story in and of itself.

As someone who just picked up season one in the big WB sale, I have to say that I'm really disappointed that season two won't be released. I really like this season a lot. I enjoy this show and love the town and I love to continue visiting it every week.
Does anyone watch the show in first run right now? Is it pointless for me to just pick it up in the fourth season? Or can I get back in the swing of understanding what is going on after a few episodes?
I wonder how poorly this sold to be not released again. It had to be pretty horribly because I can't think of another show that has released a season and then just stopped.

True, at least we have the first season. What Gord said doesn't leave me with much hope, but I'd buy as many seasons of this show as they can make (I'm hoping it can get at least to season six, anyone know how their ratings have been?).

Season Three was pretty awful. Season Four has been pretty solid so far. Coming in from Season One though, expect alot of the series' "identity" to be gone. They've scrapped John Beasley's bookending narrations altogether and shifted a majority of the music from score to popular music. But the Abbotts and the Browns have become complex, fascinating, and most importantly endearing again.

Well, it got moved to Thursdays as part of the WB's efforts to create an event night on their schedule. This says to me that those two shows Everwood and Smallville are held in very high regard. Ratings have been, I believe, down from before due to the more competitive time slot but I know they're leaps and bounds above the WB's Thursday night performance last year. From this week's press release:
Quote:
THE WB THURSDAY AGAIN PROVES TO BE TELEVISION'S BEST SCHEDULING MOVE OF THE SEASON
The WB Thursday continues to establish itself as the best scheduling move made by any network this season. The aggressive move of the two signature series, SMALLVILLE and EVERWOOD, to build a beachhead on one of television's toughest nights again paid major dividends and achieved THE WB'S BEST-EVER RATINGS IN MEN 12-34 (2.4/8) AND EQUALED THE NETWORK HIGH IN MEN 18-49 (2.2/6).
SMALLVILLE has consistently been one of the winners on the night this season, achieving a #1 rank in men 18-34 (3.5/12) for the fourth time in as many weeks this season. The super series also placed #1 in men 12-34 (3.6/12) and #2 among adults 18-34 (3.1/10), persons 12-34 (3.1/10) and men 18-49 (3.3/10).
SMALLVILLE set new WB Thursday records in males 12-34 (3.6/12) and men 18-49 (3.3/10) and equaled the all-time high in men 18-34 (3.5/12). SMALLVILLE also set new Thursday time period records in persons 12-34 (3.1/10), adults 18-49 (2.9/8) and total viewers (6.4 million), while delivering the time period record in adults 18-34 (3.1/10). The show built sharply week-to-week across all demos, and continues to more than double the time period deliveries of a year ago in adults 18-34, adults 18-49 and persons 12-34.
EVERWOOD scored season high deliveries in women 12-34 (2.0/6), female teens (2.3/8), teens 12-17 (2.0/7) and male teens (1.7/6), and equaled its season highs in persons 12-34 (1.6/5) and women 18-34 (2.0/5). The show ranked #3 in its time period across all 12-34 and 18-34 demos, as well as women 18-49. EVERWOOD has also improved the time period tremendously, growing over the parallel night a year ago by +114% in adults 18-34 and +150% in adults 18-49.
The WB Thursday achieved triple-digit growth across nearly every key demo, including +156% in adults 18-34, +118% in persons 12-34 and +120% in adults 18-49. The network ranked #2 on the night in men 12-34 (2.4/8) and was #3 on the night in adults 18-34 (2.3/7), women 18-34 (2.3/6), men 18-34 (2.2/7), persons 12-34 (2.4/7), females 12-34 (2.4/7), adults 18-49 (2.2/6) and men 18-49 (2.2/6).
