Yeah, I don't see why this would be weird, and I dunno, maybe its just me but I've seen tons of commercials for TV on DVD and some that go back a ways. I usually see the commercials for a show during a sindicated episode of that show, I've seen several commercials during Friends for that show's DVD releases, and the same is true with M*A*S*H and a few others.
TV on DVD releases will never garner as much pub as movies on DVD, but they don't sell as well as movies do either.
It is kinda exciting to see commercials for box sets.
I'm sure once Survivor starts they will start promoting Survivor
