Jan 4, 2005?! Hmmmmmm.

I hope they have commentaries and this better be at least a 6 disc set (or 7 disc set due to how 5 episodes on a disc didn't work that well for the first two discs of season one). At least, I hope they dig up the TV spots for all 26 episodes of season 2.

Why would they go to the expense of recording commentaries for a set that hasn't sold well in season 1? This won't be any different than season 1.

Excellent news on Season 2.....I'll definitely order this one through Amazon. (They don't sell this title in Canada- probably owned by another distributer here.....ironic considering that the show takes place in Toronto. )

Count me as one who really wants Season 3 to make it to DVD.

I'm happy to see the rumors I've been hearing were true. I just hope they don't compress this one so much and do indeed add extras. I know for a fact that the crew from FK has lost footage and they approached Sony about it. Also, Geraint Wyn Davies (Nick Knight) did some commentary work already I think according to his official fanclub. Let's hope Sony uses these goodies.

As excited about getting season 2 as I am... I am trying to be realistic. I am not expecting any more then what was in season 1. I do however... hope that we will see a lower price for the set... not expecting it... but hoping.

As for season 3...
I am doing my best not to get my hopes up. I am looking at it like this... we got lucky to see season 2 at all. If season 2 don't do well... season 3 will not happen. Even though I would hate to see them stop with just the last season to be released... who could blame them if they are not making money off the sets.

I wouldn't blame them, but clearly the way to prevent this is to get the word out and make sure that enough people buy season two that they will make a profit and continue on to season three.

Regards,

Joe

Gord, I think FK season 2 needs commentary tracks. Every little extra can help sell the set. Some FK fans think season 2 is the best and that why some fans didn't buy season 1 because they wanted to buy season 2. Hopefully, they at least put on the TV spots and some deleted scenes (and the infamous gag reel).

My biggest concern is I hope they do better remastering and compression of the episodes for the season 2 set than what they did with season 1. One of the factors (in addition to the high price) I think that lead season 1 to not selling well was the picture quality on the discs.

Yes, that's right. Contrary to studios' belief, people care about the PQ and if it's poor, word gets around.

In other words: Alot of people read this forum.

Personally, I really liked the 1st season, but didn't want to commit to it if S2 was never coming out. I only wish the DVD lived up to the quality of the show. If S2 is good I might consider purchasing S1 again.

According to tvshowsondvd.com, Season 2 will have bonus material:

Commentary Tracks:
Killer Instinct - Jim Parriott and Geraint Wyn Davies
A More Permanent Hell - Nigel Bennett
Curiouser & Curiouser - Nigel Bennett
Crazy Love - Jim Parriott and Geraint Wyn Davies
"About the Show" featurette (20 mins)
Questions from the fans (7 mins)

I hope they improve the video quality while they are at it. Really looking forward to this set.

I wouldn't count on improved picture. They're not going to pay to have the masters cleaned up for a show that isn't selling well.
