Hello to all " The Magician" Fans! (1973 - Bill Bixby)
This to inform you that I have posted a new thread at the "Studio and Manufacturers Feedback" forum. (My thanks to Linda Thompson). This, in order to try and get some straight answers since some of the other fans have told me they received negative feedback from Mr. Blythe but we are not sure why and hopefully we'll hear it from him.
Unfortunately our other thread here was closed after it was merged. (Hopefully this one won't be since it's an announcement/update). This is the body of the text of that thread:
<
We the fans of "The Magician" would like to understand what it will take to see this series released on DVD and if there's anything further we must do to help or to make ourselves heard.
I had phoned Paramount and was told that you are the Vice President of Paramount and in charge of this and was given your email. Gord tells me you are not in charge here... this is to say the least CON-FU-SING!!
Some fans have told me that you wrote to them saying there were no plans for its DVD. We asked why and received no answers. We've had an online campaign to find as many fans of "The Magician" and to email you and still no answers.
Some of us have sent you links to eBay "The Magician" DVD & VHS sales that should prove the market. Then we've been voting at Gord Lacey's TV Shows website.
We are further suggesting that perhaps this series (being 30 yrs old) should be released initially as a limited edition DVD with a bonus CD soundtrack of Patrick Williams' composition. This should bring more income to Paramount, please the hardcore fans and be an incentive for bootlegged video buyers to buy the real DVD.
Mr. Blythe, please kindly get back to us on this.
Furthermore, Gord Lacey asked that we don't email you but it's confusing to know what the right thing to do is. If we don't email you, there are fans (we're older in our 40's and 50's) that won't bother to vote at Gord's site because it's too confusing, tedious or they don't want to bother with registering. Then again some fans don't even own a PC!! So if you don't hear from those fans that would send you a brief email, those people won't even count.
What are we supposed to do to be able to buy this DVD??
Thank you.
