Any news on Cheers S4?

Dave/Gord -

Can we expect it when Frasier S11 hits, or will we be waiting until they release S4 of Frasier?

Thanks,
Jeff

Sorry I've not been hanging around the past week...I've been swamped at work again.

Iimagine Cheers S4 and Frasier S4 will arrive at the same time.

Does anyone know anything about the disclaimer "some music has been altered for the home video release of this set" on the bottom of the box on the back of Cheers Season 4?

All I know is that it has kept me from buying this until and unless I can be assured that the music is uncut and intact.

I was also wondering about this. I've watched most of the set, but couldn't detect any obvious changes. Every episode runs at least 24:30, with several clocking in at a full 25:00, except "The Peterson Principle" (Disc 3), which runs only 23:30.

I was thinking that maybe there was an entire sequence that needed to be cut for music clearance purposes, or it was a possible syndication version. It's odd that just this one episode runs at least a minute shorter than the rest.

Anyone have any ideas?

In regards to missing music, I checked an online episode guide and the only thing I can find are two songs that are sung or hummed by cast members.

I don't have this set yet, so can someone check these two episodes?

#85-Cliffie's Big Score:

This is the one where Diane goes with Cliff to the postman's ball and Carla is in the backseat with the burnout. There's a scene where Cliff tries to come on to Diane in the front seat and starts stroking her arm and singing the song 'Misty'. The song has a line-"look at me..."

#91-Diane Chamber's Day:

There's a scene where the Cheers gang hums the theme song to "The Magnificent Seven" by Elmer Bernstein.

They can't possibly have messed with Cheers.

I just checked. These two scenes are included and appear to be unedited.

Does this same diclaimer appear on the Cheers Season sets 1-3? I don't live within 40 miles of any store that carries these seasons to check them myself.

I haven't bought the any of the sets yet, but if everything seems in order I think I am gonna buy the 5 season bundle off of amazon.com when the 5th season comes out.

I don't see it indicated on the boxes for sets 1-3.

What about the one when Carla goes to a dance contest with Nick Tortelli?
