I was disappointed in the 5.1 mix of those shows. I watch them in mono. The color also isn't what I remembered watching in my youth. But I have to admit it's great having all the episodes on DVD. Look around and you can get the whole show for about $100. It's about 60 episodes. A few extras, some first rate writeups on each episode, commentary for a few. They even put some old commercials back in. Like the band doing ads for Kelloggs. I had some scratched DVDs and they went out of their way to replace them. They ended up sending me 2 sets of replacements without an explanation. Dr. Rhino, their customer service person, is the man (or woman, not sure).
Thanks. I may do this eventually. That's a fairly good price in my opinion. And I love the extras you mention. Some of the Dark Shadows releases have the original commercials as well.
As far as having DVDs replaced, I have never had any problems with Amazon.com, even after the normal return period has elapsed. I routinely return slightly under one-half of all that I order from them, but that's mostly due to banged up boxes and not to damaged DVDs. I think it's in the delivery of the item to our home. What I love about their return policy is that they allow you to return the damaged item after the new one has arrived, which enables the consumer to 'mix and match,' if you will.
There are a couple of places that have been mentioned on this Board that I refuse to do business with because their return policies are inflexible. But that's a talk for another day.

It's a shame they didn't at least put a less compressed version of the first 2 or 3 seasons of the show on more DVDs. Bradbury just didn't get enough respect. I recommend his short story books as a companion to this TV show.
