I couldn't disagree more. The third season of Lost started to answer some of the questions they've raised since S1 which means that they're staying focused on the end of their story (and not just dumping another mystery onto the pile with no hope of answering them all). They continued to build on all the characters and change them in a natural progression rather than just tread water and have absolutely no change in any of them. And they had a finale that was flatout amazing and opened all kinds of doors for the next three seasons.

Re: Whats the last TV DVD you bought
I hate to burst your bubble, Travis but the approaching fourth Season will be the final season of the series. I just didn't like the direction that the third season went ... while I did enjoy the first two seasons I think by focussing too much on the others, they took all of the mystery out of the series ...

Re: Whats the last TV DVD you bought
I never got into "Lost" at all. The show focusing on way too many characters is bad enough, but telling their stories in flashback take away from their current situation of being on that desert island in the first place.
Why this became a hit in the first place is the real mystery!
ABC tried this concept way back in 1969 with an unsuccessful series frequently written by Rod Serling and co-created by Aaron Spelling. It was called "The New People".

Re: Whats the last TV DVD you bought
Zardon, that's the number one complaint I have with the series ... the flashbacks just detract from the series itself. At any rate, get ready to drool everyone because the following list of DVD's are what I have coming on the way from Columbia House:
CSI Season 2
CSI Season 3
CSI Season 4
CSI Season 5
CSI Season 6
NCIS Season 1
NCIS Season 2
NCIS Season 3
Star Trek Enterprise Season 3
Star Trek Enterprise Season 4
Star Trek The Original Series Season 2
Star Trek Voyager Season 6
Star Trek Voyager Season 7

I have to agree with Travis here, Mark. Yeah, S3 was a bit slow in focusing on the Others, but frankly I found that interesting. I thought the show really picked up steam in the second half of the season and again, I agree with Travis. That finale, which will be re-aired on Weds. Jan. 30 beginning at 9 p.m EST, was absolutely amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed it last May and I definitely enjoyed it once again watching it on Blu-Ray last month on my new Sony Bravia 46-inch LCD TV. Looking forward to this upcoming season.

Re: Whats the last TV DVD you bought
I kind of look at Lost the way I always looked at the X-Men character of Wolverine. When Marvel Comics started revealing more information about Wolverine's history, it took all of the mystery out of the character. Sure, the season picked back up around the latter part of the season but I hope the producers pick up the steam during this final season.

Re: Whats the last TV DVD you bought
I've read that there are three more seasons of Lost, consisting of 48 total episodes (sixteen each for three shortened seasons). Has this story been changed recently? If so, could someone please provide a definitive link? Many thanks.
From the LOST-TV site:
"Last spring's cliffhanger finale hinted at rescue for the bedraggled plane-crash survivors trapped on the uncharted desert isle. But the story is barely halfway over. ABC, in a gesture of extreme confidence, has renewed Lost for a fifth and sixth season. Barring interruption by the writers strike, there are 48 more episodes to come before the series finale in the spring of 2010."
LOST-TV // the unofficial fansite for the abc series 'lost' [http://www.lost-tv.com/]
As for the last DVDs, Family Affair (Season One), The Odd Couple (Season Two), and The 400 Blows and Jules et Jim (Truffaut).

That's correct, there's three more seasons left. Each season should have 16 episodes but they only shot 8 episodes of S4 before the writer's strike shut them down. Until the strike is settled, it's too early to guess how or if they'll make up the other 8 episodes of S4.
