Edit: Sorry, title should be Season 4 Collection 2.
From the ADV Films website:
Quote:
HOUSTON, December 19, 2003-ADV Films today announced a street date of January 27, 2004 for the home-entertainment release of the two-DVD, five-episode Farscape: Season Four, Collection Two. Farscape’s original, often surprising storylines and its strong, sexy characters, including its star Ben Browder as “John Crichton,” has appealed to a global audience, with passionate and committed fans from the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Brazil, Sweden, France and Australia.
TV Guide has hailed the award-winning series as “The Best Sci-Fi on TV,” USA Today called Farscape “TV’s Best Space Series,” and Farscape received the 2003 Saturn Award for Best Syndicated/Cable Series-the series’ third win in a row!
Episodes from Farscape Season Four: Collection Two:
“Natural Election” (Episode 406)
Crichton predicts a wormhole’s appearance near Moya, but just then a giant space plant captures the Leviathan. D’Argo attacks the plant in his ship, sending it into Moya’s conduits, making it even more difficult to kill. Finally, an agent is found to repel the plant, but it exists only in Scorpius’s cooling rods. To save Moya, Crichton will have to trust his enemy.
“John Quixote” (Episode 407)
Chiana and Crichton are sucked into a game world ruled by a virtual Stark, who sends Crichton on a quest to “Kiss the Princess.” To escape the game, they must battle old friends and enemies in fantastic guises. Meanwhile, onboard Moya, Scorpius escapes and brings the crew under his control.
“I Shrink Therefore I Am” (Episode 408)
When Moya is raided by bounty hunters working for the Peacekeepers, all the crew is captured except for Crichton and Noranti. The armored intruders shrink their captives, and imprison them in holding cavities… inside their bodies. If Crichton kills the intruders, he risks killing his friends as well.
“A Prefect Murder” (Episode 409)
The crew lands on a planet divided by generations of clan war. After experiencing strange hallucinations, Aeryn is subliminally coerced into assassinating a clan leader. When Crichton also starts having hallucinations, they realize that someone is using both of them.
“Coup by Clam” (Episode 410)
While in quarantine above the planet Khurtanan, the crew shares a meal of alien mollusks and suffers a violent physical reaction. Each crew member becomes bodily linked to one of the others, Crichton to Sikozu, Aeryn to Rygel, and so on. It soon becomes clear they have been deliberately poisoned by the local doctor and are being blackmailed in exchange for the cure.
Farscape: Season Four, Collection Two (SRP $39.98) is a DVD-only release containing five episodes on two discs (episodes 406 through 410) and presented in anamorphic widescreen format. Includes English 5.1, English 2.0, and closed captioning. DVD extras include: a printed insert with official episode synopses and updated character histories of Ka D’Argo and Chiana; a behind-the-scenes interview with Jonathan Hardy (Voice of “Rygel”); Inside Farscape: Villians; From the Archives: “Revenging Angel” animatics; Cool Farscape Facts; Alien Encounters; Sets, Props, & Costumes Gallery; deleted scenes; Farscape trailers; and ADV Previews.

Please don't take this as a .
But the thing I like most about this set is that it takes the five worst episodes of the season, and puts them all together in one, easy-to-not-buy package.
I dare any fan of the show to find something nice to say about Coup By Clam or A Prefect Murder.
Don't get me wrong, though. I own 4.1, and I'll pick up everything from 4.3-forward.

Well, I am a fan of the show, and I thought "John Quixote" and "I Shrink..." were two of the best episodes in the first half of season 4 (next to "Promises" and "Lava...").
As for "A Prefect Murder", the animatronic old man was simply amazing and completely believable (in sci-fi context)and is only slightly overshadowed by the fetus-thingy from "Choices". Plus it was kind of cool to see another cast member of "The Road Warrior" (no, besides Virginia Hey) in Farscape playing the ruler.
"Coup by Clam" had...er...well...okay fine, you got me on this one. I kind of thought it sucked too. But I also thought "Twice Shy", which will be on the next DVD set 4.3, was just as bad.

Maybe I'm hopeless, but I've enjoyed every episode of Farscape produced and cannot wait for the in production mini. Problem is I haven't been able to track down 4.1 locally, may have to buy online....

Actually, I liked "A Prefect Murder". I will agree with you about "Coup By Clam", tho.
I also liked "John Quixote" as well because it is pretty gonzo and it has a Zhaan appearance...

I still need to get a couple of the recent releases to get caught up, but I'm sure I'll get this eventually. They're not exactly as cost effective as some of the other shows I've been collecting that come out in season sets, a trend I wish ADV would adopt if they keep aquiring new shows at the rate they have been.
This release does look like it represents the weakest point of season 4, but I think there's enough enjoyable episodes on it to make it worth getting. I like John Quixote and A Prefect Murder and I don't want to have gaps left in my collection. After all, there were a few pretty weak episodes in season 1 and I still shelled out for them.
