I watched the movie on Monday and Tuesday and really enjoyed it. Has there been an announcement on when the DVD will be released? If so, any idea if we'll see a special edition or Director's Cut of this movie (with extra scenes) sometime in the future? I remember the original Dune mini-series was released with more footage added.

It's just a matter of time before this hits DVD. Meanwhile, DVD review copies of the miniseries were sent out to TV critics and others in the media and industry, and those two-disc sets (just the discs in a jewel case) probably will show up on eBay soon.

I hope we see it soon, cause I for one loved the show. Since the ratings are high I hope they make another.

Yeah, but I've heard that those screeners are incomplete (some special effects were missing, music missing in some parts, etc.). As a matter of fact, I think one of the people who reviewed the movie before it aired mentioned that his copy had unfinished effects.

I know a DVD will eventually be released to the public, but I do hope they come out with a Directors Cut. I wouldn't mind seeing new scenes or expanded scenes.

Now that the series has been announced the DVD release of what should now be considered the Pilot Episodes instead of the Mini-Series should be a sure thing.

The release date will probably be determined by when Sci-Fi decides to start airing the 13 episodes.
