King of Queens Episode Cut???
I hope Dave can stop by and help me out on this one because he is the man on this sort of thing.
I've been enjoying the King of Queens: Season 1 set, but I was flipping through the enclosed episode guide and it says that Bill Cosby guest-stars in episode 22, "Where's Poppa?"
Being a Bill Cosby fan, I was looking forward to this one. Guess what? No Bill Cosby! So I went to tvtome.com to see what the deal was and apparently Becker is supposed to be in there too-- it's a whole cross-over episode! But none of this is in the episode on the DVD. It says the Doug gets hit on the head with a baseball ... nope. Not in the episode I've got here.
Can the King of Queens fans out there help me out? It's like I'm losing my mind!

If by "Dave" you mean me, then I'm sorry that I can't help you right away. I have never found the show entertaining, and so I don't own the box set or know anything about the shows. To each their own, and this one is one of mine...sorry.
I'll look into your question, but I suspect that before I get too far in my research, a real KoQ fan will come along and clear things up. But I'll still ask around.

Well, I don't see any quick answers...there's only one review I could find online (thanks to DVD-Basen.dk), and that review - done by DVD Authority - sheds no light on the matter.
I checked out TVTome's entry, though, which is here. I notice that you say "Ep. 22", but TVTome says this should be Ep. 2 3! Are you sure you didn't just watch the wrong one?

No, no ... I also noticed the difference in episode numbering. In fact, there is more than one instance of different numbering. For instance, tvtome and the index disagree over the last episode of the season.

It looks like they did two versions of the episode - I've seen it on German TV several times and neither Bill Cosby nor Ted Denson appear in the episode.
Maybe they did one version for that "special Crossover Monday" and one version for all future airings when the episodes from the other shows are not shown on the same evening.
That way they wouldn't have to pay Cosby or Denson everytime the episode airs.

Sounds like Sven might have it. It wouldn't make much sense as a crossover if you don't have the other episodes bookending it. And from a syndication standpoint, it doesn't make much financial sense to completely throw away the episode. So they probably shot some additional filler to replace the crossover/guest scenes for future airings. Plus the royalties issue Sven noted.

My memory of this is very vague, but I think that all of the episodes that night were a similar theme, but the only interaction of characters across shows was in little segments between the shows.
