How to make my DVD player play other regions?

I just got a new JVC XV-N44 and I would really like to be able to play other region DVD's on it, are there sites telling you how to mod them or whatever to do this? What procedure do you usualy have to go through to watch other regions? Is it difficult?(I do have some electronics experience) Thanks alot for the info!

I pulled this from another site:

From what I've heard, this cannot be hacked with the handset nor the machine itself. It takes someone with a specialised little box that connects to the compulink input which can then upload new firmware.

I don't know if that's true or not, but that's all the help I can offer at this point.

Try these two:

http://www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdhacks

or

http://www.nerd-out.com/forum/

If you can't find a way to reset the machine at either of these sites, it's probably not gonna happen. But you'll likely be able to find affordable alternatives.

Cheers,
