(June 30, 2008) – The fun is just getting started when two high school girls kidnap the world’s most popular boy band in order to save their reputations in the pop-tasitc comedy Taking 5, debuting on DVD September 9 from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Director Andrew Waller (American Pie Presents: Beta House) mixes catchy music, a cute boy band and a “fantasy-come-true” storyline for a cast including Daniella Monet (Nancy Drew), Alona Tal (TV’s “Veronica Mars”), Christy Carlson Romano (TV’s “Kim Possible,” “Even Stevens”), Bart Johnson (High School Musical 3, Daddy Day Camp), and Atlantic Records recording artists The Click Five (Eric Dill, Joey Zehr, Ethan Mentzer, Ben Romans, Joe Guese). The hip bonus materials include the music video debut for the title track “Kidnap My Heart” by The Click Five, behind-the-scenes featurettes and an interview with Director Andrew Fuller. The DVD will be available for $24.96 SLP.
SYNOPSIS:
Just when BFFs Gabby (Daniella Monet, Nancy Drew) and Devon (Alona Tal, TV’s “Veronica Mars”) have a chance to get the hottest band to perform a free concert at Highland High, their plan goes up in smoke… literally. Desperate not to be labeled losers for life they resort to plan B: kidnap the band! Now it’s limos, laughs and a shot at love with 5 Leo Rise (played by hot boy band, The Click Five). But when the girls discover a secret about the band things hit a sour note. Will 5 Leo Rise to the occasion and play at their homecoming or will Gabby and Devon be stuck in social Siberia forever?
