The story in EL NORTE is still a current event after 25 years. The full-screen DVD's from Australia and Mexico are no more than adequate quality. So a Criterion edition is an important release and most welcome.

This is my "dream come true" DVD. One of my all-time top 10-20 films, released by Criterion, and in high-def. I can't wait to hear what the extras will be.

Now if Criterion would just announce the complete works of Satyajit Ray on Blu-Ray, I think I'd have a heart attack from the excitement. But it would be the happiest heart attack ever.
