CULVER CITY, CALIF. (May 5, 2008) – TV’s hottest male sex symbol Jesse Metcalfe (TV’s “Desperate Housewives”) stars in the terrifying new horror-thriller Insanitarium, debuting on DVD July 15 from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Writer and first time director Jeff Buhler (screenwriter, Clive Barker’s The Midnight Meat Wagon) guides a strong cast, including Kiele Sanchez (TV’s “Lost”), Kevin Sussman (TV’s “Ugly Betty”), Olivia Munn (upcoming: Big Stan), and Peter Stormare (Fargo), through this horrifying thriller about a mental hospital that uses their patients as test subjects; turning them into bloodthirsty, flesh-eating psychopaths. The bonus materials include making-of featurettes, deleted scenes, a storyboard gallery and a bonus digital copy of the film, which allows consumers to unlock a digital copy of the film to play on their PC or PSP® (Playstation® Portable) System. The DVD will be available for $24.96 SRP.
SYNOPSIS:
Jesse Metcalfe stars in this horrifying thriller about a man who cons himself into a mental hospital in order to break out his beloved sister. Once inside, he discovers that a doctor (Stormare) is mercilessly using his patients as lab rats and is turning them into bloodthirsty killers. Trapped inside an inescapable labyrinth, will they find a way out before the relentless cannibals hunt them down?
Insanitarium was written and directed by Jeff Buhler, executive produced by Mason Novick and Michael J. Zampino, produced by Chris Bender, Andrew Golov, Larry Schapiro and J.C. Spink, and stars Jesse Metcalfe, Dale Waddington Horowitz, Olivia Munn, Molly Bryant and Peter Stormare.
